    You queried it, I answered. They're not ripping you off because you always have the option of saying 'no thanks' and seeing out your Orange contract.

    It is a rip off.

    Why is a 3g customer getting rubbish 3g signal while a 4g customer is getting good speed in the same location?

    Why other networks offer free upgrading to 4g while EE want the contract extended for 24 months at the exorbitant price that originally included the cost of the handset?

    OP says they're getting rubbish 3g signal - do we know whether this is in just one area or all over? If all over for example, then it is likely not the 3g network.

    And do other networks allow mid contract transfers from 3g to 4g without charge?

    My 3G is poor a lot of the time. Some areas are ok though.

    02 have recently text my daughter saying they have upgraded her 3G to 4G free of charge, which is mid contract. She just had to turn her phone off and back on and it was there.
