Same here. OP, how much did the mileage on the car increase by?
Sadly I only reset one of the trip meters because at that time I dropped it off I was just curious as to how far their depot might be. I am afraid I didn't look at the total miles. Both trip meters were reset at some point so the readings make no sense. I guess they are wise to that idea. I had no idea what I was going to eventually discover.
When the camera was being disconnected the driver points it at the dash so I have a reading from then. I suspect they didn't use my car much beyond the day the camera was disconnected. Seems most likely they use cars for a few days then actually park them so none get too many miles added. They have a constant supply arriving each day to hide their deceit.0 -
And they dont take a odemeter reading at handover?0

Does your dashcam come on automatically ?0

I always take a snap of my mileage as I hand the car over and I try to use a reputable company but you can be caught out by scammers...0

Yes caught out this time. Too trusting again
Car cam is powered by accessory socket so comes on with the ignition. Stays on for 3 minutes after it loses power. can be changed in the settings.0 -
Keep us updated, OP.If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0

I have just purchased a dash-cam with GPS etc. This in order to have photographic proof in case a Parking Charge Notice ever comes through to me.
However to the point, You must report the driver to the police urgently and get a crime scene reference number. Your 'borrowed' car may have committed allsorts of infringements, speed cameras and parking offences etc. I would also remove the footage from You Tube as a Judge may take the view that the footage pre-judged a prosecution.
The car park company needs reporting to Trading Standards as there is a clear breach of contract and possible issues under the Fraud Act 2006.REVENGE IS A DISH BETTER SERVED COLD0 -
The police should deal with this - it sounds like it is TWOC.
Consent can be conditional, so I might say that you can drive my vehicle to the local shop, but if you then use it to go on a trip to the other side of the country it's TWOC.
So in this case, the OP consented to allowing them to drive his vehicle for the purposes of putting it into storage (and presumably, delivering it back to him thereafter). Any use beyond that is TWOC.
The reason I say it 'sounds like it is TWOC' is because you'd have to check the terms and conditions you agreed to.What will your verse be?

We left our keys at Stansted last week. As we were only going for five days we prebooked the short stay through a third party - which was cheaper than any of the off site meet and greet and most of the park and shuttle operators too. I felt OK doing it -not sure I would now even though it seems to be a part of the airport operation and claims to be official.
You have to wonder why the driver didn't look for a webcam first of all and once they did discover it what the heck they thought would happen. Bizarre !I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0
