Meet and greet airport parking sham

I used a meet an greet company to park my car at Stansted Airport while on holiday in Spain last week. When I got home I reviewed the files on my carcam given I found the camera taken off the screen. I found evidence showing my car was used as a general runabout vehicle during that time and was not put into secure storage as claimed.

I have told the company about this and they requested the evidence. I am going to send them links to the first two files I have showing my car being taken and left at a petrol station for 8 hours
(seems I am unable to post links as a new user)
and then driven presumably to the driver's home
(seems I am unable to post links as a new user)

I have many other files showing it being used for shopping trips and trips to the railway station should they be needed. On day 3 the camera was discovered and I have film of the camera being removed by the driver.

Before I do that I wondered if anyone has any idea of where I stand in terms of getting compensation or getting this company brought to task?

I thought about contacting trading Standards office but don't know if this is the right organisation?

I could try contacting Rogue traders and Watchdog on the BBC and contact the booking agents on the web to warn them about this company and suggest they disassociate themselves with them prior to any watchdog investigation.

I can make entries on tripadvisor and other social media outlets but do I have any real teeth to use against this sham company should they show no remorse?

Thank you for any advice

Jonathan

Why not see what the company say in the first instance when they see the footage? Whoever you escalate to now will want you to have raised a formal complaint with the company first off I'd imagine.

Police. The car has been taken and used without your permission. You paid a company to securely park your car, someone has been driving it without your permission. You have evidence - I'd contact the police.

+1. Even better if you know who was driving as the company will of course have no idea who was driving if the police are interested in doing anything.

ok, I will send the links to the company first - SVS meet and greet if you want to avoid them. and see what they offer. My morality gene is screaming that I owe it to other to highlight the problem rather than chase compensation.

I have a clear view of the driver when he stands in front of the car and puts money into a parking meter and also when he dismantles the camera. I also know exactly where he lives given the car goes back there every night!

I'd still complain to them but after checking Trip Advisor and some of the reviews on there I can't see you getting anywhere so police etc might be the way to go!

Hope it's resolved quickly for you!

I'd go straight to the Police, it's straightforward TWOC.

I saw those reviews as well. I wish I had done more research.

I guess the difference here is I have video evidence and not just my word against theirs.

Apparently my sister know a police inspector and his unofficial view is that it might be more civil law than criminal but there could be grounds for deception charges against the company and TWOC against the driver.

I will see what the company say first.

    Thank you for your comments.

How on earth can this be a civil complaint and not a criminal case?
You did not give this clown permission to do anything other than park your car for a week. For all you know, there may be some nasty surprises winging their way to you from speed cameras or parking penalties.
Go to the local police station with a copy of your evidence and make sure they take it seriously.
