  • Remember this forum has NEVER been about always buying cheapest. It's been about making your money go further on the things you want to buy.

If someone wants to buy a 3k watch then fair play to them.

    Oatybiscuit.

Your experience in the shop is what you should expect from any store, as long as you go in level headed, speak politely and discuss rationally with them the issue you have with your purchase.

The problem you have is that there are LOTS of people, who go in kicking off at full throttle, bringing up their ''Rights'' when they don't even know them, or try and mould them to fit their argument and make store staff wary of what reception they will get with any future complaints.

If everyone acted better with shops and their staff, then perhaps, the posts on here a lot of the time, wouldn't appear, as they ahd the issue dealt with calmly and pleasantly in store.

Everyone gets tarred with the same brush unfortunately and with being in retail myself, I will go out of my way to help someone who isn't screaming at me, with their face right in mine, which happens so often now, it is not nice.

A lot of people need to learn how to interact with other human beings these days !
  • They would have just replaced the damaged links on the watch (had they not swapped it out) the cost of replacing links is nothing. The mark-up on those types of watches is enormous.

My £10 'Tenerife Rolex' is still going strong 24 years on! The thousands I could have spent on a genuine one went on paying off my mortgage 15 years early.

I have a £5 Fuerteventura Rolex somewhere. Got the battery changed a while back, still works like the day it was sold.
