We know that, but you can use them to park ANYWHERE (well almost

Maybe not?0 -
I just despair at how a perfectly legitimate thread degenerates into a nasty slanging match!
The PPC's reading this, as they will be, must be really chuckling at the time and effort being wasted on this instead of pinning them to the wall!0 -
Yes fair point, just find it hard to believe that someone would strap a child's car seat into the car in order to legitimise them parking in a P&C space, irrespective of whether there is technically nothing to prevent him parking there aside from a moral issue of courseI just despair at how a perfectly legitimate thread degenerates into a nasty slanging match!

Knowing the poster of old, there was a modicum of humour in his post which went Whoooooosh. It went downhill from then on.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Actually, you are incorrect. This forum is littered with people who have received tickets for parking in disabled bays without displaying Blue Badges.
PPCs' t&cs limit use of wider disabled bays to those displaying Blue Badges.
Now, if you are saying that goes against EA legislation, then that's a different issue !0 -

MUST we go through this again, really.
can I point out that not everyone who uses a disabled or a child space is NECESSARILY disabled themselves or ARRIVES with a child. Also, disability is often hidden. A range of possibilities exists, including mainly collecting a disabled person or child.
So, instead of adopting an indignant and unnecessarily aggressive stance, you might want to to think twice before making a fuss. You are (probably) not aware of the situation enough to judge.Under no circumstances may any part of my postings be used, quoted, repeated, transferred or published by any third party in ANY medium outside of this website without express written permission. Thank you.0 -
Parent and Child (or Toddler) spaces are fraught with difficulties when it comes to defining a child. Sometime the PC specifies an upper age for the child. How can they judge the age of a child before issuing a ticket. And what's the definition of "toddler"?What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

This thread has gone in allsorts of directions but it might be helpful to explain how my parking management gripe came from.
I have a fuels business and I use a pickup and trailer for my work. I often called in at my local Morrisons later in the day to buy a few odds and ends and have meal. My pick-up and trailer fills two spaces but at that time of day there are usually plenty of spaces so no obstruction occurs. However Parking Eye management was introduced and as they are very well known for their litigious stance on T&C's, danger bells started ringing. Since then I have boycotted my local Morrisons as I don't want to go through the hassle which some of you have endured. Life is too short!REVENGE IS A DISH BETTER SERVED COLD0 -
If all those jumping in on this thread to criticise, delivered even a minute percentage of help that bargepole provides to random, unknown posters with their parking problems (including highly technical and complex legal cases, with personal appearances at court on their behalf) then their contributions would be better focused on the issues we are all working on in this forum.
So come on you guys who are quick to pile in on second order P&C issues, put your money where your mouth is and help in advising newbies how to deal with, appeal, and defeat their PCNs.
Any takers? Or are you just content to sit there and criticise and to leave it to the few regulars to deal with all the Groundhog Day issues, with the likes of bargepole to handle the really serious side of things at court level?
If you can't positively contribute to this particular forum, then please find another one more suitable to your level of expertise and provide assistance there.
Don't forget this is a Money Savings forumPlease note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
