I would say it is "Freaked Out 2" on the Atari ST. Simple game, with limited graphics, but so much gameplay it is untrue!0

Difficult to answer but I probably spent most time playing The Lords of Midnight.

This was a 1984 Spectrum game, there's a browser based version you can try if you want to play against real people:

Currently playing Commander Europe at War quite a bit, this is a PC wargame based on World War 2.

No affiliation to any of these just recommend them as excellent games if you like that sort of thing.Make £2018 in 2018 Challenge - Total to date £2,1080 -

I'm really wanting to get GTA V but it's still so expensive everywhere. Lowest I've seen it I think is £38. It's obviously one that people are keeping rather than trading in as I've seen literally 0 pre-owned.0

What a great thread!
There's a lot of love for Sensi and quite rightly, although much of that comes from it being the game I played most with mates at Uni.
Elite was a revelation at the time, and I played it to death.
I was quite late to Consoles, so I'm still working back through some of the popular xbox360 titles. Assassins Creed 2 is up there, best protagonist and beautiful setting, I spent ages just wandering around blending into crowds and climbing. Gears of War deserves more credit than it gets, I prefer it to Halo/COD as a brain off fun game. I loved Deus Ex HR/Fallout 3 and I'm loving Skyrim, but I only have 2-3 hours gaming time a week so I always end up getting bored/frustrated before the end with these detailed types of games. For 'just one more go' replay value it's Bayonetta, and I'm suprised I'm the first to mention it.0 -

I remember getting a 5.1 surround system and buying I think it was Medal of Honor (or Call of Duty) and the starting sequence was the beach landing at Omaha?? It was so real it was scary good.
Funny I recently upgraded to a new computer and was wondering what sort of game would give me similar enjoyment.
(or Microprose Soccer! )0 -
Speaking of scary - Castle of Terror on the C64 - that music when Dracula appeared... in a very slowly rendered static screen....AARRGGHHHHH!!!!0

I loved those original war shooters. I remember the D-Day scene too - quite mind blowing at the time as the first time to see something like that.0
