  • So many of you on here that I passionately agree with! It's ultimately meant that I've scoured the lists that I agree with and have spent a small fortune this evening on GOG. Money Saving my ****....

Anyway, in no particular order, and by no means exhaustive, my favourite games from my favourite systems:

    SNES:
    Super Tennis
    Super Mario World
Legend of Zelda - Link to the Past
    Super International Cricket

    N64:
    Mario Kart 64
    Goldeneye
    Zelda - Ocarina of Time

    PC:
Civilization 2, 3 and 4 (never really got into 5 - 4 was the pinnacle for me)
Championship Manager 97/98, 00/01 and Football Manager 2015
    Sim City 2000
    Sensible World of Soccer 95/96
Red Alert / Red Alert 2
    Transport Tycoon Deluxe
Secret of Monkey Island 1, 2 and 3
    Frontier Elite 2
    Cannon Fodder
    Grand Prix Manager 2
Premier Manager 2 (awful game, but good memories)
Star Wars - Knights of the Old Republic

    XBOX:
    Mass Effect Trilogy
    Portal
    Pro Evolution Soccer 2005
    Half Life 2
    GTA 5

I'm very seriously considering spending about £300 just to have a proper go on The Last of Us too. Would love a PC version but I cannot see it happening!

For sheer 'number of hours played' mine are

    Skyrim
    Deus Ex
    Fallout 3

I often go back to these and start from scratch...something about building a character is so addictive.

At the moment Last of Us Remastered on PS4.

Old school gaming, I would have to say Legend of Zelda a Link to the Past on SNES! Loved that game!

Tricky one as there are so many "great" games, but this is about what for you was a best ever game.

    For me, ummmm
Oblivion, though looking back some storylines were a bit rubbish tbh, but it was that immersion.

Skyrim......see above, but way more. Even addicted to fanfiction on this.

Assassins Creed, especially 2, that just seemed to be where it took off.

The Yakuza games. It's hard to say why, the graphics aren't the best, but the story is out of this world, and the setting, amazing!

The Last Of Us. Not as much as some liked it, but some parts were incredible and genuinely scary (no spoilers but a certain part involving a dark flooded basement full of predators). Plus the real acid test, an ending which had you thinking for days later, before finally "getting" it.
There was just so much in that game beyond the obvious. The settings, that building full of the discarded rotting detritus of everyday life, sound of the wind in the windows.....and realising the cliche of post apocalypse of dull grey isn't realistic, yes it's more likely to be just as beautiful as an autumn day now - just deserted. A lot of thought went into that game.

Far Cry 3, great game until the ending which was crud

On a side note, fair enough it's all personal opinion but I've never understood the love for Fallout 3. It's just so depressing
