This actually made me tear up a little. Thank you, I do have issues with self esteem although it all stems from my weight which with improving my fitness and diet I can start to feel happier in my skin.
Well now I'm tearing up a bit too, I used to call myself similar names too so I know how you feel :)
I think improving your fitness and diet is definitely a good move :) Maybe you are doing it the other way round though, there is absolutely no reason why you should not feel happy in your skin now, instead of waiting for something magical to happen, thin women can still have low self-esteem.
You can still follow the same path, and improve the way you eat, exercise etc and become more fit and lose weight, it's just a separate process. In fact the more you like yourself and your body, the more you want to look after it and eat well, exercise etc, or at least that's what I found.
Maybe the first step could be to change the title of the thread and give it a positive spin, like from fabulous to even more fabulous ;)

Weird thing is I still feel the size that I was before my thyroid kicked the bucket, in my head, and then I glance myself in a mirror and realise that I am 3st heavier and it's a bit of a shock. I get frustrated with that and I have done so many fix it quick diets that I vowed to myself that I would respect myself with putting my body back to it's rightful shape and improving my health in the process.
The piglet part is more reminding myself of a place I don't want to be anymore a bit like carrying around a photo of yourself looking your best and worst.

I admire what you are doing.......just to see if sharing ideas is useful...
Today I had a banana, 1.5 whole meal pitta stuffed with spinach, tomatoes, cucumber and felafel, roast pork, parsnips and broccoli, a few grapes, a nectarine and some homemade ice cream.
A heavy exercise day (the following exercises with heavy weights I mean) shoulder presses, squats, bench presses, reverse lunges and bent over rows. Tomorrow will do the same but for more repeats with lighter weights. All done in the beautiful sunshine with a friend's son's weights, bar and dumbells.

Welcome, yes it's nice to get other meal ideas too.
homemade ice cream sounds divine and I had forgotten how much I enjoy a falafel wrap think I may have to pick some up.

Another trip to the fruit & Veg stall is required today me thinks. I had an avocado from there yesterday and it was gorgeous. So more of these. Tomorrow is pay day so will have to top up with some sardines, watercress & broccoli (all calcium rich foods).

Run this morning was a bit difficult; took the dog but park was closed so ended up in a practice on lead running session. Didn't go that well and my ankle was starting to throb 1/4 of the way through. I have one more week 2 running session then supposed to be going up to week 3. I won't take the dog on Friday and see how I go if its too much will stay on week 2 for another week

  • Weigh in day tomorrow  I take measurements too.
I am starting to feel a bit healthier though so not going to sweat too much on the number.

Does anyone have any comments on my food this week that can help me improve my diet?

  • Well weigh in was 11st 7.5lbs so have gained 1.5lbs but lost an inch ?? This confuses me.
I may have to include more whole grains and fibre into my diet as well as building up more exercise
On a positive note I have started is on my train ride in the morning is visualising what I want my body to be and all the good food decisions I will make that day to ensure my goals

Gaining weight but losing an inch means you've probably gained muscle and lost fat. Well done!

Ok, now comments on your diet. A lot of the meals look pretty good. The scrambled eggs and grapefruit for example is an excellent breakfast! Have something like that again instead of those breakfast biscuits if possible. Breakfast biscuits are just biscuits, with very little useful nutrition and they won't keep you full the way the eggs will. Also, I'm sure you know that the spaghetti hoops aren't great either because of all the sugar in them as well as the refined carbs in the pasta. For quick 'on toast' type meals, how about swapping the hoops for mushrooms or tomatoes or perhaps fish of some sort?

I see that you're buying some green veg. This is really good because at the moment you seem to be getting a reasonable amount of fruit but you could really use upping the vegetables quite a lot. Maybe you're having some that you don't mention with your chicken drumsticks in the evenings?
    Saving for deposit: Finished! :j
    House buying: Finished!
Next task: Lots and lots of DIY

The breakfast biscuits I had in my drawer at work as an emergency breakfast and the hoops were also my emergency stash. Trying to eat them now rather than throw them away. Although I am tempted to give the biscuits to a colleague. What I put down is everything I eat, I have noted about the veg too so will be looking getting more of this in my diet.
Thanks for the comments it really does help as I don't really have much knowledge of nutrition and when I try to research it comes back as low-fat etc..
