How to prevent child's usage of landline

I have just checked the monthly bill on my Sky Talk and so far over £30 of mobile calls have been racked up :eek:
I am always telling my teenage DD not to use the home phone for mobiles but it seems she doesn't want to listen.
Is there any way to prevent her phoning out? I would happily get rid of the phone but work from home and have work calls coming through.
The phone I have doesn't have a pin lock facility and when googling I can't find anything that does. Not really sure what I can be typing in the search bar and the answers that come up are years old
Any assistance welcomed.

What does she really dislike doing, how does she feel about cleaning toilets and pulling hair from drains to pay off her debt?

If she receives pocket money it could be stopped until the debt is paid, or it could be removed from a birthday, Xmas budget etc.

Of course she will be punished and there will be no money until it's paid off. But realistically I'm fairly sure she will do it again and again and short of beating her I'm not sure what would stop that?!

Options are: buy a handset with a lock feature or change provider to one who offers this service. Seems bizarre Sky don't offer this, I had BT block mobiles/premium numbers about 15 years ago so it's nothing new.

I thought such "advanced calling features" were available from all providers? It is certainly possible to block all calls to mobiles and premium numbers with a PIN to unlock if required.

Is it certain that Sky Talk don't have this?

I recently moved to Sky to save money :rotfl:
New contract so can't get a new service provider.

I've looked for phones with a lock facility but not sure if the pin lock facility just means you press hashtag and star and it's usable again. So enough to stop a toddler but not a teenager

No, the PIN is whatever you programme it to be.

Have you asked Sky whether they offer this service at the exchange?

If I was your daughter, and decided to carry on calling mobiles, I would buy a cheapo handset from Argos and plug it in just to carry on calling, then hide it.

Do you have a cordless phone? if you do, for now could you keep the handset with you so that she has to ask you when she wants to use it?

Does she have a mobile? If she has is she running out of free minutes, perhaps her tariff needs adjusting?

She is a teenager, time for her to get a job to pay it off. and pocket money stopped. she will soon learn
