Good morning all,
It's a gorgeous day and I've got some lovely news. I'm going to be a grandma again. Grand baby number three is on the way:j. My middle son and his gf are expecting, shes just past the 12 week mark, we are so excited and pleased, and it's a winter baby so early February which is unusual in our family as everyone seems to be born in the summer. It's a good excuse for me to get on with my dodgy crocheting. I may have a nana nap this afternoon JackieO:D
Meanmarie sorry to here about the colonoscopy how frustrating, hugs x
jlhmd666 my dh is very much the same. He doesn't spend on himself but is over generous with everyone else. He always understands the need to make more money but thinks saving pennies is a waste of time, He's a work in progress.
Sistercas hope DD2 has a good trip
Well my head is full of babies and I can't concentrate, I need a quick run to the charity shop and have some computer work so I shall be busy.
Have a lovely day all xxx

Hello all,
Early morning was quite overcast, but now the sun is out and it feels quite muggy again.
Popped to Mr. A for some provisions and then on to DD for a coffee, she is doing well now, not nearly as much pain.
Julie many congratulations, both Himself and my grandson are February babies, one on the 17th and the other on the 18th.
Having a bacon roll and a slice of HM lemon drizzle cake for lunch and then chicken stroganoff, jacket potato and salad this evening. In weather like this I like to cook as little as possible.
Hugs to all poorlies and Jackie I hope you have managed to make an appointment with the GP, those bites sound really nasty.
Have a good day all

When I'm at home in the afternoon, I frequently have a snooze in the afternoon - once I make 'the mistake' of putting my feet up on the sofa, I'm 'gone'
can't fault you

Marie, sorry it didn't go well and that you have to go through the whole rigmarole again
Julie congrats on new grandbaby :T
Didn't manage to get on yesterday, it was a pear shaped sort of day.
I went to the freezer to get some raspberries out to make a cheesecake and someone had left it ajar all night. But the fairies did it as usual:doh:
So I spent all day cooking, I hate having to throw food away.
So I made
2 apple and blackberry crumbles
2 apple and rhubarb crumble
2 cottage pies
2 spag bol sauces
a pork stew from defrosted pork chops
sausage toad
I have a chicken to cook today when it is fully defrosted (It was partially defrosted so I wouldn't take a risk)that will be eaten tomorrow
I also cooked goujons, salmon steaks, spring rolls, meatballs wedges and corn on the cob for dinner and we are having the chicken that I had already cooked for dinner tonight plus gammon steaks.
We had the bacon in butties for lunch
I sent another pack of salmon, a bag of sweetcorn and a bag of chips down to a neighbour who is a close friend she laughed and thanked me for her dinner
I hade already made a cheesecake so that is in the fridge to be eaten today
DD, DH and DS had one of the blackberry and apple crumble's for breakfast:rotfl:, the rest have been frozen
We still had to throw a bit out such as lollies, ice cream, a bag of kippers, a bag of sweet potatoes so not too bad.
Then burger me DD brough a punnet of strawberries home from work
I got on the scales this morning and have lost 2lbs not surprising really
Had podiatry this morning and my feet feel a lot better, back in six weeks as usual.
DD spotted Martin with his little girl at the zoo yesterdayShe couldn't wait to tell me when she got home.:rotfl:
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Morning all,
I'm off down Moms this morning. Hoping to get there and back before it gets too hot.
Onwards and forwards,
have a great day all.
Been and back but it was a difficult visit. My Moms face was a picture when she saw me. She was so happy to see me! I wheeled her in her wheelchair into her room and the first words out of her mouth were "you were golden to me". Finally, after all the years of carp ive had to put up with from her, I, in the first few minutes of our meeting got recognition for all the things ive done for her over the years. Not quite an apology of sorts but an apology isn't needed. Just the appreciation that I was a good daughter and not someone just born to look after her when she needed looking after. Someone who's feelings don't matter and is useful for hurling insults at when she feels like it.... a second class citizen compared to my brother who is always busy, always needs looking out for blah blah blah. I answered her simply with an 'I did try my best' then I changed the subject.
I just got settled into my chair when there was a knock on the door and in walked my brother and girlfriend. So much bad feeling between us and it was so awkward. Me talking to Mom, brothers girlfriend talking to Mom. Brother saying nothing just reading a newspaper. Neither of us talking to eachother just directly talking to Mother.
Whether Mom was aware of the situation I don't know. Her dementia comes and goes but we got through it. My brother knew I was with Mom as we have to sign in when we visit. He would have signed in after me.
Mom's hands are always cold. Her body is warm ive checked but her hands are always cold. When I go and visit her I get her gloves out and today was no exception. I felt her hands, they were so cold so I put her gloves on. My brother came in and took them off her. "Its too warm for gloves" he told her. I said nothing.
We limped through the visit for a good hour. I knew I would meet my brother eventually but it didn't make things any the easier.
I came home and collected my thoughts. On the way back home I met an old friend. We were both at the same church together but she left before I did and we both lost touch. I am going to see her a week on Wednesday. I'm so glad ive seen her.
I'm going out in an hour or so. Clothes shopping.... my brother who is supposedly destitute, was better dressed than me. :rotfl:This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Marie sorry to hear you have to have the colonoscopy repeated - I would say what a pain in the bum, but that'd be a bit off-colour, methinks.
I am cream crackered - just done the back lawn again. I got Mr LW to lower the blades on the mower, and it was really hard work; got loads of grass up though; the garden waste wheelie is totally full! Still, at least it'll be easier to poo-pick the garden now.;)
I have a new toy coming later - our ancient Dys0n is falling apart (literally - a bit of the plastic bit in front of the rollers broke off a couple of weeks back) and it isn't picking up properly any more; changing the filter doesn't help, so we've concluded it's time to pension it off. Anyways, we looked online yesterday, and have reserved one of their Animal models at Argoose; Mr LW will collect it on his way home from work tonight (bu88ered if I was paying an extra £3.95 to have it delivered!!) So I'll have a play with that later.:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Oh Judi, it must have been wonderful to hear your Mum's acknowledgement, and then to have to limp through an hour of your brother being there, but you did it, and now you deserve a treat.
Well done that woman be proud of yourself.
Much love

Julie - congrats on lovely news, so exciting
Judi - I'm so glad your mum made you feel appreciated, that's something you will always remember. Sorry you had to see your bro, I'm from a fractured family too and since dear mum passed away I've had no contact - much happier this way.
BB - well done you! You deserve a medal for that
Got up late and so have only cleaned bathroom and done food shop. DH was a star and came too. I'll make chicken fajita wraps tonight and the milk at home was on the turn so there will be pancakes for pudding.
I need to venture into attic to see if there is another fan as DS1 says DS2 is keeping pointed his way in the night. It's still so muggy!0 -
Julie - Huge congratulations!
Judi - Must have been really difficult for you with your brother. It's a pity he didn't see you'd signed in and gone away till you went.
Been hot and humid again here. Did the towel wash today, so much easier when it's warm isn't it?
Only two more days at work. I have mixed feelings; it will be nice not to have to get up at 6.30 but I like going to work and will probably get bored!
Off to Yoga tonight and have sausages for tea0 -
Congratulations Julie.I would love another baby but not sure it will happen. They're so precious
How awful for you Judi that you had an awkward time with your brother there? Glad you got recognition from your mom though?2016 Grocery Challenge January: £296.20/£300 February: £262.05/£3000
