Does Halifax Clarity card say "Clarity"?

For those for whom their online banking is just showing "Halifax Mastercard", that's what mine did until a few months ago when it changed to "Halifax Clarity Mastercard".
Maybe some people still have BoS system Clarity cards.0 -

My assumption was wrong then.
Phone them and ask OP0 -
Reading these forums, it appears that banks throw compensation around like confetti.
People seem to get compo for pretty trivial things.
I got £100 compo from them just for complaining - although they did carefully word their response - was something along the lines that if I agreed for them to close the complaint i.e. not go to FOS, they would be able to pay me some money.
I think it's just them thinking its cheaper to buy complainers off than go through any further potential correspondence.Never argue with an idiot. Especially not this idiot because I'm always right anyway.0 -
Is it just me who finds it ironic that Clarity is probably less clear than most cards?0

Don't assume that. I have a Halifax credit card that I haven't used in a few years now, but want a Clarity card as the card I was using (Nationwide) now charges for use abroad. I dug my old credit card out of the safe and on looking at it, it seems to be exactly the same as a Clarity card in appearance.
I rang Halifax to check, to be told that it was a Halifax Mastercard and, as others have found, it's not possible to just swap it to Clarity. Instead, you have to cancel the Mastercard and wait up to six months for them to see if they want to offer you credit through the Clarity card.
This strikes me as bonkers, because I've been a customer for years; all I'm asking for s a straight swap to a card that meets my needs better, yet, because I'm an existing customer, I have to wait six months. Meanwhile, a completely new customer can apply today and get a card within a week. Thus, my retired husband who 'earns' about a fifth of my income (and who is on our current card as the 'second name') can apply and get approval pretty much immediately, while I have to close one account, wait for it to go through the admin, then apply for a new card, and then in up to six months can find out if I can be approved. So a completely new customer, who they don't know anything about gets a service which is far preferential to that of a current, loyal, always paid the bills customer. Mad. It makes me remember why I put the original Halifax Mastercard into mothballs....Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0 -

I completely agree with you. Unfortunately most banks are still doing this. I think because they just do not want the current customer consistently take advantage of their new offer. Also they might think the the existing customer is not going to switch anyway.
For the new customers they give this perks as an incentive to join.
They have underestimated the number of customers who will be willing to cancel the existing one and then reapply again in six months. What they are doing is actually to create more admin burden for them. Also upsetting the existing customers.
But I have seem that few banks are moving away from this old business model. The banks such as HSBC and Nationwide will normally include the existing customers when they launch a new product to the market.0 -

That is interesting! I have had my "Halifax Clarity Mastercard" ( Blue in colour) for nearly 3 years now and never has it shown "Halifax Clarity Mastercard" when I log online. It only shows "Halifax Mastercard" online and the card logo online is Black.
My paper statements only show as "Halifax Mastercard".0 -

Don't assume, just because a customer service rep told you that it wasn't a clarity card, that it isn't.
The only sure way of knowing is to read the credit agreement that you entered into when you opened the account.
I have had my card, which is blue, since January this year. The card does not have Clarity or any other title on it. Online banking has the black card logo and the title "Halifax MasterCard"
Online statements say "Halifax MasterCard".0 -

Same as me and I applied feb this year, the opening literature definitely says clarity. So did a rep when I queried it before the card came through and I had online banking. My new card appeared to be the wrong colour!0 -
