with all conditions equal, lets say I had the rubber soles on, I'd still take the 1amp line above the 13 amp line - why? because amps kill and there are more amps in the 13 amp line before it cuts out. 1 amp can kill just as much but that's like saying I sign up to be hit by a lorry or a fiesta standing in a 70 limit road, makes no difference, but gun to my head I'd pick the fiesta, just in case I got lucky
getting silly chaps. agree to disagree?
Sorry, but you're an idiot. Anything above about 45-50mA (milli-amps) can cause ventrical fibrilation and KILL YOU. How much more than 50mA is therefore irrelevant.
Or would you ask to be shot in the back of the head with a .22 instead of a .457 Magnum, in case you "got lucky"?0 -

I know people who have had 240 volt shocks and I was merely making the point that if I had to go with it I'd rather the lower cut off
so I'm not on about guns at all I'm on about getting fried up to a point, and would I like the lower or higher point. you can do maths can you not ?0 -
I'm an electrician and my opinion stands!
Let's go with a poison analogy analogy shall we - say 1ml will kill you and you are offered 1L or 5L, which you choose is irrelevant, they will both kill you!
That's why RCDs are set to trip at 30mA, because any more will kill you (of course you could "get lucky"!)
BTW, my maths is fine, how's your sanity.....0 -
my sanity is fine thanks, I'm still alive not plugging myself into the mains etc. your problem is you want money and to nanny the whole country thinking that changing a plug is as dangerous as throwing yourself into a tiger enclosure, - while I appreciate a man has to make a living, and seeing as we go by analogy and parables, I'm a tech guy by trade, but what I don't do is go into granny villages and tell them they've all got viruses and exploit their ignorance to make a fast buck- if you look back to my posting I clearly said that 1 amp could kill just as much - so where is your point other than you're a sparky I'm not therefore if I state 1amp can kill I'm an idiot yet if you do you're the world leader on the subject
plenty of ways to make an honest buck without resorting to insults fear tactics and BS.0 -

However, I have a good working knowledge of electric, and I understand earth loops, gauges of wire, testing equipment and I don't make mistakes because it's life and death - if anything I'm obsessive /compulsive about it. You have to apply common sense to any given situation. Obviously I'm not going to do it for them they probably live 200 miles away, obviously they're not going to claim because it's a hypothetical situation. but if it was a mate and if It was within my capability I'd do it for them and sleep at night no problem because I've got a good awareness of what I can do well and what I'd draft in help for instead. Common sense.
You will have to get a professional person who is gas safety trained. As it is against the law for you to remove the cover of the boiler. Whether you THINK you know what your doing or not.0 -

I'M sorry but a little knowledge and i mean a little is very dangerous.
If you think a small rated fuse is safer than a larger one to the end user then i really think you should stop. and take up painting.0 -

A Fuse will not cut off (as you put it) if the user is getting a shock so going for a lower rated one doesn't make any difference.0 -

And yet he'd be happy to get hit by a Fiesta at 70 mph because "it's smaller" and he "might get lucky".... No, you'll get dead! :T0
