Recommend Parking and Hotel for Gatwick South?

Another option I frequently use is parking in a nice, quiet residential street somewhere not to far from Gatwick - there are a number of stations fairly close on the route to Brighton.
Drop the family off at the airport, drive to where you're parking then hop on the train back to Gatwick.
Repeat in reverse on the return journey.
Saved me a ton of money over the years and never had any problems.0 -

I don't think I could cope with that faff when I was going on holiday, and especially when coming home.
But - we live 200 miles from LGW so it's bad enough getting there and then facing the journey home, round the M25 so the above suggestion may work for some people. Just not for us.
I'd rather turn up at whichever hotel we've chosen, check-in and then look forward to the holiday and consider the hotel/parking money well-spent.0 -
Yes I don't think our fleet manager would be too happy with me leaving the car in a random street either LOL. Anyway it's booked and sorted and booking via the PI website saves loads from if you book the meet and greet parking on it's own.0

Indeed, horses for courses - but this is a money saving forum which is why I included this tip which has saved me a lot of money on long-term parking over the years.
It's not just LGW but any airport where it works well.
For those nervous about parking on the street ( I always choose upmarket residential areas and have never encountered a single problem ) there are also those residential parking websites such as

FWIW many years ago I had a few hours to kill before a flight at LHR and spent it knocking on doors in a very nice area four tube stops away.
Eventually found a lovely old lady living on her own who was happy for me to use her vacant drive and we agreed on a very reasonable rate.
I was then using LHR on an almost weekly basis and it suited her as well because a car in the drive made her feel much more secure.
We became very friendly and she'd always invite me in for a cuppa as she was a bit lonely - eventusly I'd bring her back some Duty Free fags and she wouldn't take any money for the parking.
It actually put an extra hour on my journey but I didn't mind.
She died a couple of years ago aged 84 and I flew in to LHR to go to her funeral - and used her drive one last time.0 -
