Returning a pint of beer

Sorry if this seems petty or off topic...but does anyone know what the law is regarding returning 'bad' pints and asking for refund?
Happened to me last night. Scenario: bar manager says "it's fine" and refused refund. Might have accepted an alternative but by that time we were frustrated and walked out (got a receipt tho').
I'd like to get my money back from this bar.
Incidentally, this was in Scotland so law is different?

Not much you can do now. You need to have stayed around a little longer and tried to get a resolution on the spot or spoke to the owner instead. Were the other punters in the establishment drinking their pints?:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)

Yeah, we did have a reasonably complete discussion with the manager, but I think he made his mind up pretty quick that he was not going to bend. He said that this line just went in that day.
Notably, he didn't say "other people have had no problems", and I think we were the only ones drinking it at the time we were in.0 -
Was it a local pub? Do you go there regularly?
The reason I ask is in my bar days, the few who complained about pints in one club weren't regulars - that club had a proper cellar, cleaned all pipes etc as they were meant to. In the other club i worked in.....regulars did complain but that was down to the bar not having a proper cellar to chill the kegs and not cleaning pipes as often as they should.
In other words, there are a lot of things that can affect the taste of a pint.
The clubs I worked in would offer an alternative drink to the same value where there was doubt or it did taste off, but if there was nothing wrong with it then they wouldn't. No, it was just a place in town that I hadn't been to before. Actually the place gets good reviews at least for its food. I was surprised that the manager was so quick to refuse flatly, since we were fair and polite about it. Maybe he had a bad day...
Anyway, I intend to write and ask for a refund or replacement goods. Just because it's a pub, doesn't mean they are exempt from consumer statutes.0 -
I'm not aware of a customer protection statute that says you are entitled to a refund if you think it tastes funny. Unless you could demonstrate that it was off/sour/bad then its down to their goodwill, and it sounds like they don't think the scenario is worthy of a refund/replacement0

In that case I assume you have kept the evidence so if they refuse you can go to a higher authority.:p0
