The Elegant baby store - NEVER USE _ BEWARE

The Elegant Baby Store is on ebay, amazon and they have their own site. I have never experiences such bad customer services, abuse and game playing.
I ordered a moses basket and stand and decided (which is within my rights) to cancel after hearing some negative things about the seller and reading many negative reviews on ebay and amazon. I thought it would be easy but I have been receiving abusive emails and been abused on the telephone.
I made the purchase on ebay and put in a cancel request. They agreed to cancel but were really persistant about me cancelling and then I would receive a refund. As it states on ebay that you need to receive your money before cancelling especially if you have not received any goods. I was advised after calling ebay to decline the offer to cancel until I received my refund.
I was then sent messages saying "look what you have done now, you've made it awkward". "I won't refund you now" "You made me lose my seller fees" "if only you did what i said. I informed them that I was instructed by ebay. I called to explain what ebay had said to me and resolve the issue with an apology in order to get a refund. WELL - I was speaking to one man who said id get a refund and he would not send the goods as requested and in the background was a heap of f-ing and blinding about me doing what I was told and not listening, how I would now be sent the item and I would not get my money back.
I called ebay again and they instructed me to open a case. which I did and now even though I said I do not want the item I received tracking information. I called again and was met with the same abuse and in retaliation I got irate as they said one thing and did another.
They are rude and abusive and do not deal with customers well. They have still not provided me with my refund and somehow ebay cannot get into their paypal account to issue me a refund so now I am nearly £50 short and still sending emails to try and get money money back. I think they call it theft....
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD YOU USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!

    I bought a beautiful moses basket and a cot bedding set from them a few months ago. They are both beautiful, i changed on mind twice on which basket i wanted both times after the sale was completed and all i can say is they must have the patience of a saint lol. Great, polite customer service with a sense of humour.
    By not agreeing to cancel when requested Ebay now won't return the sellers fees, that is why they are peed off..
    Remember the time to review a store etc is before buying and not after.

    The seller asked OP to cancel, and OP went to ebay instead and cost the seller money. I'd be !!!!ed too :o

    Hope you get your money back OP. Also, just because this has gone down it doesn't strictly mean the company/employees are bad, just human. MAYBE just consider reviewing companies b4 purchase or giving them a bit o leeway when you cancel at short notice :)

    Its my right to cancel - whether the goods have been received or not. I did it early as not to cause too much fuss and though it to be easier in fact. Things could have gone smoothly if they followed the rules on ebay. I followed the rules and refused to set myself up to be scammed. Who's losing out here - £49.95.

    Everyone is entitled to their opinion and its taken (not with a smile on my face). I understand that I should have not been so quick to buy something without reviewing it first. At the same time something easy has been turned into something crazy with insults, swearing and racism. things i don't condone or do regardless of the circumstance.

    I'm a bit confused about the chain of events but if the OP paid and then decided not to proceed then IMO the seller should have just refunded and then asked eBay to cancel if the item hadn't already been sent.

    Yes, seller agreed to cancel and raised a request through ebay to cancel the transaction.
    It has to be done this way so that the seller gets his Final Value Fees back from ebay.
    Unfortunately the OP decided at that stage not to agree to the seller's ebay cancel request... thus meaning the seller was not able to recover his selling fees.
