EE £8 contract?

Hi my Dad recently took out the above contract with Orange/EE which as far as he is aware (need to check with him for definite) he gets 500 texts, 500 mins and he thinks 250 gb of internet use. His last 2 bills have been £23 and £16 which while we are aware some calls cost a little more is a lot more than the £8 that he agreed his contract for. I have the same contract, although mine is the previous £7 contract (now £7.22) and mine have only ever been just over £8 at the most because of sending a pic message or ringing a number not included. He has rung Orange who were not very helpful at all and to terminate his contract they want £44 off him. Now while my Dad bless him is not top notch where technology is concerned he is by no means thick but cannot find a reason why these bills are so high. He texts children, grandchildren as with calls and may send the odd picture message, which we are aware cost a bit extra but other than that as far as we know there is no other cause for it, he doesnt use the internet on his phone, again that we know of. Anybody any suggestions and also does anybody know how to find out actually what calls you make eg numbers. I have just checked my 'Your Account' but all I can find is how many minutes used not who too?

You can definitely view itemised bills with Orange online and this page shows you how:
