Hi.
Googling "search engine evaluator" should give you an idea of what the work involves. iSS ar:search::search::search:e no longer recruiting for the job we're doing on this thread, although they have others listed as available on their website here. Leapforce, Lionbridge and Appen all offer similar positions, and they each have their own threads somewhere on this board.
Thanks so much for that info! Off I go :search:0 -
What was the test about?
I am just trying to understand what is the test concentration0 -
I've received my first payment from ISoftStone through paypal and was charged a fee for receiving my payment. I've worked for two other companies in the past doing the same type of work and they paid by paypal as well, but I was never charged a fee from paypal to receive my payments from these two other companies. Are you all being charged a fee to receive your payments from ISoftStone through paypal?0

What job are you doing, and what country are you in? Most of us on here are Search Engine Evaluators, and get paid via bank transfer.0 -
I live in Canada and am doing online crowd work. I was a Search Engine Evaluator for one of the other companies that paid via paypal and a crowd worker for the other company. No fees were charged for receiving money via paypal for these two companies. Thanks so much for the reply0

Do you have a contact or project manager or anything? If so, I would try emailing them. Looks like you may just have to suck it up though.. How much was the fee? I used to do crowdsourcing for Appen, and they didn't charge one. Am assuming this is the same client, so it does seem a bit strange/unfair..0 -

Same for me...
I still haven't heard any news about the contract renewal.0 -

Yes, I was charged 2.9% plus 30 cents. I contacted paypal and they said that ISoftStone has set up the payment as though I am a seller. The fees are passed onto me this way. I do have a project manager - would it look poorly to ask why they are passing on this charge to me? It does add up.0
