Yes, I was charged 2.9% plus 30 cents. I contacted paypal and they said that ISoftStone has set up the payment as though I am a seller. The fees are passed onto me this way. I do have a project manager - would it look poorly to ask why they are passing on this charge to me? It does add up.

I don't think so. Just ask if they offer an alternative payment method that doesn't charge a fee or something, and see how they respond.. Can't really do any harm!
I still haven't heard any news about the contract renewal. :(

Hopefully ours getting renewed means it's likely to be good news for you as well. Do you still have work at the moment? Cos not sure about the other markets, but here a new "month" tends to start around now, as opposed to on the 1st..

Has anyone checked their RTA score? I'm too nervous to check mine as I'm sure it'll be too low :( Some of the ones recently were terrible.

It's typical that the one month I get way more work done than usual I probably wont get paid for it :o

Never thought of doing that! Just looked, and mine is currently at 70% for December. Which I think is exactly what we need. I was doing RUBBISH for the first few days, but as they seemed to keep coming through for longer than normal, it looks like I managed to make up ground.. Go on, check yours!

Why would you not get paid? :(

    Ah nice one.

Yeah there seemed to be quite a lot this time, but in the end I was hoping for even more to try and make up for my earlier ones that I got wrong :p

I'm not sure, I was just assuming that if the RTA score drops below the required level then they might say that the work hasn't been good enough for the month and therefore not pay :p Hopefully that's just me being overly negative though.

Just checked the original email that mentioned RTAs, and it does say that if we fall below 0.7 then we'll be removed from the project. But whether that would mean then doing a requalification test or not, I do not know. :( Am 99% sure you'd still receive the money for the hours you worked though. Never heard of any of these companies refusing to pay out in a situation like that, anyway.

Have also been looking at all my RTA data since I started. Although don't actually remember doing any at the end of last month, so not sure whether there could be some sort of crossover for some of them..?

    August - 82%
    September - N/A
    October - 79%
    November - 78%
    December - 70%

Hopefully everyone else has managed to do enough in this latest round, anyway.. :(

Thanks for the info, hopefully everyone has done alright! :)

I just plucked up the courage to check my RTA and I'm just over 0.70 for both this week and the whole month so that's me feeling a bit more positive!

I was working through a few more hits to try and get another hour or so done before next months start, but I think I'll leave it at what I've already done in case another nasty RTA or two pop up :p

I'm doing my tax return (kill me now) and I was just wondering what you guys put down for expenses?

Do you calculate things like electricity etc?

I don't really count myself as having any expenses unique to the work I do - and as I'm under the tax free allowance it wouldn't make any difference anyway, but I am assuming a business with no expenses might look slightly suspicious to HMRC?

I do include expenses. I just take a fraction of my total bills for the year based on how many hours/week I do on average :) As you might expect it comes to a piddling amount that really makes no difference in the scheme of things, but hey ho.
