Just called Halifax again and spoke to their switching dept. Apparently two direct debits must be transferred ,not set up after the account is opened as I have done. Therefore no £100 for me . ....
    GOODBYE HALIFAX!!!!

    Try again?

But do it correctly this time...

Is £100 for about an extra 20 minutes work not worth it?

    ;)

Might be a bit more work needed though, if the account switched was the only one he had.

Is it too late to switch again? Will it count against me that I had already had the Reward account? I made the same error with the dd's so I switched away last week.

Hi Just to let you know that I filled in the online complaint form and someone (not from the Halifax switching incentive department )called back within the hour and offered me the £100 . I will stay with the Halifax for now and see how it goes .

    Ridiculous if they've upheld that.

To clarify the switching rules with regards to the DDs:

I have a Halifax reward account with two DDs set up: one is with PayPal and the other one with YBS egg.

I would like to switch my old Lloyds Vantage account to Halifax and receive the incentive. Now, also on my Lloyds Vantage account there is one DD with PayPal (and the other one is with Santander).
Can that PayPal DD be switched? Or do I need to make sure that there are no 'overlapping' DDs on my Halifax and Lloyds accounts?

    Thanks!

Yes, it can be switched, but I don't know what would happen with Paypal - it may not be able to handle two DDs to the same account

I have 6 DDs on one halifax account, 3 of which are to one credit card and 3 of which are to another credit card. Trying to cancel the 4 which are redundant results in an error.

This situation arose because I had 2 DDs to those cards originally on the Halifax account, which I moved manually to account A, then to account B. A was then old-switched to B and then B was new-switched to Halifax, so A is still open

Does anyone know the answer to my question as to whether switching 2 DDs that will never be paid will result in the £100 being credited, as long as there are already 2 DDs which are being paid?

As there is no requirement for any DD to be switched, it doesn't matter whether the DDs you have on your to-be-switched account get paid or not.

They must have changed the rules?! (The site you are quoting says "The offer applies to applications received in branch, online or by phone from 21 July 2014." (yesterday!))
I'm pretty sure there was a requirement of 2 DDs to be switched to get the incentive earlier. Well, even better then.

    I'm also 'pretty sure' you're right :p

I'm gearing up for a switch to the Halifax Reward but was waiting for DDs set up on 'old' account to actually be paid before applying. Think I'll still wait - just in case they change the rules again.

@ bowlhead99 l will actually use this as a current account, albeit not my main account :A
