It's too hot to cook today, so for lunch I think I'll be just having myself a nice sandwich of some description - lettuce, tomato and possibly some cheese, on granary bread.
Not sure about dinner for when my wife gets home though. Probably some sort of salad, I think.0 -
Just been to the supermarket to do the food shop. Don't know quite how I managed to spend so much - £75 in M&S and £50 in Waitrose  OK, 6 bottles of wine and a lot of cakes/desserts/biccies might have something to do with it.
Tonight it's a super-quick pasta dish. Luganica, fennel seeds, sliced garlic, white wine, parmesan and rocket. Scrummy, and cooks in 10 minutes.
Dentists this afternoon so I might regret today's sweet purchases

No, it was deleted because it came from a completely different thread, which I'm guessing earlier posts in where the issue.
I'm having my lunch now, we didn't have any bread so it's basically fruit and a chocolate bar! First time trying an actual apricot, wish me luck...!0 -

This sounds devine, though I've never had fennel seeds before, are they similar to anything I may have had?0 -

An anniseed flavour. Italians often pair it with pork and they are frequently in curry spice blends.
It's a fab recipe, just a total pain getting luganica (it's an Italian sausage). There's a proper family run Italian corner shop near my parents so when I'm going to visit I call in advance and special order a load in for me to collect. I get antsy if I have less than 3 packs in the freezer!0
