    It has a snooze button

OP wants a sleep function, not snooze.

  • Still looking! So with the Tesco one can I just press the sleep button and it will come on for say 20 mins if that is the setting that I have previously set it at? I downloaded the manual but that is not clear

No. You press the sleep button once and the Scan+ button once for each 10 minutes you require up to (I think) 90 minutes.

I've found that after you've done it a couple of times, you can easily do it in the dark as the display shows each 10 minute segment- 10, 20, 30, 40, etc, etc.

Thanks for the reply. I think I am going to splash the cash and buy this Roberts as it has Internet as well as FM and dab.
Not able to paste for sone reason but it is the Roberts 93i at around £139. My last purchase which was a Sony cost me around £80 and is still working after 18 years.

I have a Roberts 93i and it's a great Radio. I use it to listen internet radio more than anything else, I'm listening to Bay smooth jazz from San Francisco as I type. Nice

As well as the above it can also access any music server you may have on you home network like iTunes etc.

I keep my music library on an external network drive (NAS) that's running a media server so I can access my music without the need to have the computer on.

  • Dear Helen - I have exactly the same problem as you had. Did you find a bedside radio with a sensible 'Sleep' button?

Since the OPs original post it looks like most of the Pure range have the sleep function - https://www.pure.com/uk/dab-radio/products?sort=Popular&page=1&filter_type=10&filter_features=67&filter_colors=

I've seen good reviews on the Pure Evoke H3 before which also has this function or the Siesta 2 looks more like a traditional alarm clock and is a little cheaper.
  • We have a couple of Pure Siestas, the old original discontinued models. They have a very effective sleep button, as PDC says the current models appear to have the same function.

In a nutshell, one press gives 15 mins, two 30, etc.

I like to have a sleep timer also to listen to radio whilst falling asleep. I have a DAB radio but in the bedroom I used to use a ipod touch with a docking station and the tunein radio app. Recently I use the amazon dot with alexa to do the same thing

I can listen to audibles or radio then just tell it to set a sleep timer for whatever amount of time I required.

When travelling I just use the tunein app on my mobile phone to do the same thing as it has a sleep timer function (so does the bbc radio player)
