Bedside DAB radio with Sleep Button

Help! DAB radio has stepped backwards in terms of the Sleep Button. Just look at current PURE range (have owned 6), they are stupidly placed and/or hard to access. Roberts have completely failed to grasp the concept of Sleep button, successfully burying the function across 3 buttons and countless clicks on unreadable menus. TEMPUS had ideal placement but my last one expired at just over 2 years, previous one just over 3, but they did have their own Sleep buttons. I’m an insomniac, I need a DAB radio with its own dedicated Sleep button which is not stupidly placed or accessed across countless buttons and menus, but a button I can access in the dark, at 2 am. Help!

The above has a snooze button but I cannot see a sleep button.0

Have you looked at the Pure Siesta DAB radios - my old one had a sleep button, and looking online the ones they sell now seem to have one as well.

Thanks, but as I say, am really into radio, and DAB seems to have stepped backwards, the snooze buttons relate to alarm. I need a dedicated Sleep button with 90-120mins before turnoff. But thanks. Helen0

Thanks, yes, I have looked at Siesta (and Chronos) and am hugely disappointed with current PURE range as the Sleep buttons are really placed in daft places now. Best placement was always Tempus but it always had a rubbish life length, been thro 2 in 5 years. Am in London in couple of weeks and think I might wander down Tott Crt Rd and see if I can find something there as scouring internet has come up with zilch. If anyone can recommend good radio shop there? Or one if I zap down to Birmingham or across to Manchester if you know a great radio shop. Radio is so important which is why I was cheekie in coming to the Techie area. Thanks, Helen0

I'm really surprised you are so keen on DAB, a deeply-flawed radio transmission mechanism. How about looking at internet radios, or even <gasp!> FM, if it has all the channels you want?0

Had one of these for a while. Works well on DAB, has a 30 - 90 min sleep timer. Cheap too !

I have the Pure Siesta, the original one, slightly bigger , not the cheaper looking one Mi they do now
But on both versions I don't see how you could say the Sleep button is not easily accessible ?
Just press it multiple times to increase the sleep time
Edit :
well on the old one I have anyway ! ,
Does look like they've made it a bit more complicated now on the Mi by also using the arrow button to select the timer period
But the Series 2 seems to have reverted to a slightly simpleler method of pressing button multiple time to increase time, but still need a <select> to finalise it

Here is current one ( the Mi)
Only trouble IMO with Siesta & Chronos, is the 'loud' buttons !
p.s. if using Imageshack to show images here, you need to 'correct' the image size in the URL or be stuck with just a tiny thumbnail

Increase those numbers as you need0 -

Try search amazon to cut it down a bit and then look at the manufacturers site to see if they do what you need. Amazon is devoid of information but as a source for many sellers it is fairly good.I'm really surprised you are so keen on DAB, a deeply-flawed radio transmission mechanism. I have gone back to FM because the sound quality is so much better....and Stereo!
Internet Radios might be a good option, a very wide range of stations and should have basic features such as sleep. The sound quality should be considerably better than DAB. It would be just a case of finding one with the button locations that the OP wants.0 -
Well, I'm one of those who really likes DAB. I can never get decent reception on FM and most of the stations I listen to aren't on FM anyway. The only non-DAB radio I have is in the car and I'm planning on upgrading that soon.
I have a Pure Siesta and I'm really happy with it - though I don't use the Sleep function very often. I just fall asleep with the radio on and usually manage to turn it off during the night.0
