    I doubt it.

They are, after all, commission salesmen, so the opportunity to sell a licence/get a prosecution, isn't going to be surrender voluntarily.

This would be an offer to TVL management, not the individual field worker. TVL management could decide to pay commission for a successfully completed "visit without prejudice" if they chose to.

    I doubt they'd do that.

Organisations generally pay employees commission, for actions that increase incoming cash, not for non-productive actions.

In which case, we get to call hypocrisy on their line that their mission is to check the correct licence status of every address.
  • I don't think either of us has believed that line, since our first LLF day.

I believe they say it, though. And I believe that it undermines the LLF stance (see the discussion above).

I had thought about replying but then thought why the hell should I treat them better than any other commission hungry sales firm writing to me. It does annoy me that the visit letter implies that they are "official", rather than that they have no more right to ask me questions or enter my home than a bloke from Safestyle windows.
If they were at least polite, instead of aggressive, i'd feel more like responding but I gather the favoured option is not to interact so they can't discover your name.
Not to mention how they are still holding onto two months of my licence fee, because due to the "unique way it is funded" they only refund whole quarters.
  • IMO, £24-25 is a small price to pay, to no longer interact with them.

The two months' licence fee that 4justice did not get refunded.

I have to agree that the tone of the BBC TVL letters is shocking, and rude. They assume that anyone without licence is guilty. I've been LLF for two and a half years now. I've just had the first visit from the TVL [STRIKE]inspector[/STRIKE] salesman. I was out so he left a very rude leaflet printed in red "Your address is unlicensed. I called to find out why". The BBC TVL has no legal right to know why I do not have a tv licence, that's my private business, all they need to know is that I fully comply with the Communications Act 2003 and neither watch or record live tv.
I have of course already told the BBC this but the arrogrant cretins want you to keep telling them.
Now I've just had the "fake court" letter telling me about what happens if they take me to court, for a crime I have not committed!
Ironic that the BBC is full of Watchdog/Rogue Traders slagging off heavy handed tactics by other people, when they are up to the same time.

Thank god someone actually agrees with me and this thread is back on track
My whole point is the aggressive nature of the letters The majority on here can probaly handle them in whatever way they seem fit
My attempt to get it changed ( as I think I have ) is for the many thousands of folk out there young and old that are VERY vulnerable ?
    TVL DONT care
