That is good, with the low spend! My car situation has got even worse, Needed two new front tyres as they were literally close to the limit and the fine is hefty for having any under the legal limit, also needed the tracking sorted as it was out and therefore wearing the tyres quicker.
In the end I actually needed all 4 replacing as a back tyre had a bulge in it. Another £260!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello Diary,
What a nightmare............ £900 odd pound had to be spent on my car in the last week what with the repairs and now the replacement tyres. My OH bless him has given me £250 towards it all which is really lovely of him!
As for the rest I have no option but to move it onto the 0% credit card to bide me some time to clear it off, I am so upset that I had to add it to my debt when I am trying so hard to get rid of it!!!
Seeing as I only bought the vehicle 2 months ago from what we thought was a trusted garage we have always used.......... I am going to go through both my credit card company and trading standards to see if I have any consumer rights to reclaim some of this cost. It really is a long shot but any money back is better than none!
I will be budgeting hard until payday on 18th September, and trying to keep any money back I physically can to add some to my emergency fund and some to the debt.
I will not allow this massive set back change my determination to get debt free, and to ensure my spending habits remain like this forever. Unfortunately car repairs is an expense I cant avoid.
Still not smoking!!!!!!!!!! Right now, that is some kind of miracle.Total debt to pay: £14,071.41/ Remaining debt: £12,884.12: Amount Paid: £1,187.29

Hey Laura, what a nightmare for you - such an expensive time. BUT you sound so positive, and so focused on getting this sorted, good on you. And still no smoking, I take my hat off too you. September was the month I was going to go alcohol free........hmmmm it's not happened. I need some of your will power!0

Hi Laura,
Almost certainly means nothing coming from a stranger in a forum, but just wanted to say good luck with all you are doing, and well done for what you have so far done!! Not good about the car.........but keep at it.
Re the smoking. If you ever feel the need to.......just get two pieces of paper, and write down all the negative things about smoking you can think of on one of them. On the other, write down all the positive things.
Take care and good luck!0 -
Believe me Maryland Cookie, just recently it has crossed my mind just to give up, but I know now that this debt is eating up so much of my monthly money!
As for the non smoking, I actually can't stand the taste of them now.... It's been so long without them that I don't like the taste one bit anymore .... I wouldn't be able to smoke one if I tried now.
You will do it don't worry, I have failed soooo many times on both getting debt free and also the stopping smoking! This time I want to do it not just for me but for the OH too as our quality of life will be so much better!

Thank you eastcorkram for taking time to read my diary and leave that lovely message, means a lot to get support!
That is a really good idea, if I really do reach a point where I am close to having one I will do exactly that!
Really does suck about my car, but I bought it from a garage it was not sold as seen, it apparently also came with a 3 month warranty, so I am going to go through trading standards!Total debt to pay: £14,071.41/ Remaining debt: £12,884.12: Amount Paid: £1,187.29

Update time
So no good news about getting any car money back yet, however............ I have combined the remaining £3000 odd pounds left on my Natwest loan at 15.5% with my nationwide loan bringing both to 6.4%!!!!
Also moved my car repairs onto my 0% credit card, I am going to literally pay as much off of it as physically possible! All small amounts of odd change, absolutely everything - to get it paid off as quick as possible!!!
I am going to do some more mystery shops this month to earn a little bit more- again that will go to my debts too!
I am still fighting to keep positive, I know I have had a major set back but I will not let it stop me becoming debt free! I am also still not smoking!!! Feeeeeeling good!

Hi Laura, good to hear from you and good to hear you are still so positive, your enthusiasm spurs me on. I'm taking a bit more control and have set myself a list of challenges which I tick off every day! This month is to have as many NSD's as I can, take my lunch to work, which will help on the NSDs and exercise regularly. I've also included some alcohol free days too!!
Keep up your good work, your doing fab x x0
