Try independent jewelers, or search for auction house around your area and ask them if they have a specialist watch sale0

Find out how much they sell for on ebay or at auction to get a proper idea of the price you are likely to get.
Having found that out id try and sell it to a jewellers/luxury watch shop first. If that was not possible id then look at auctions, real ones not ebay, with a suitable reserve.Ebay as a last resort.0 -
Thanks for your ideas and good wishes everyone. You really have given me some better ideas. I do have the provenance for the watch - I have the emails from Hello Magazine, the box it came in has hello magazine on the address label and I have a compliments slip with my name written on it. I neglected to think about selling it through a proper auction house. I actually have one in my town so that will be my first port of call. I will phone them tomorrow and see what they say. I can set a reserve too, I don't mind losing some to commission as I know that it will be safer to sell it there than other options. Cheers guys! :TBefore enlightenment, chop wood, carry water

I have just won a Longines Luxury watch from Hello Magazine. Thanks to hertzyabazas and Jennycog for posting. I received it yesterday and saw the price tag then felt rather faint! Once I had recovered I began to think of how to sell this pricey item. I cannot keep it as I am a disabled lady unable to work and I am in desperate need of an electric wheelchair.
So I wish to sell it. Have offered it to Earnest Jones who cannot take items off the public, that leaves ebay or amazon. I know I will only get about half the retail price, but if I put it on ebay, a lot of commission will be further taken off of that sum. Could ask cash on collection, but worried. Has anyone ever sold a big ticket item like this before? Any advice? Thanks for listening guys.
F Hinds Jewellers buy luxury watches off members of the public or at least ours does might be worth your while asking them if they are interested. Well done on your winIf at first you don't succeed try, try, try again.

Why don't you contact your local radio station or newspaper & get them to run an article highlighting you would like to sell the high value watch prize to get a wheelchair & they may help you get interest, plus less likely to get conned.0

http://www.vestiairecollective.com/ I buy second hand designer items from this website regularly. I think you would get a better price here than ebay.
Congratulations on your win!! I hope you get a good price for it.:beer:0 -
If you do decide to Ebay it make sure you send it Recorded! If you don't any buyer could claim they never received the item therefore getting back all money they paid.0

Hi Ktkoozal
Many congratulations on your win. :j
Some really good suggestions from others that should help and I hope you get something towards your chair.
However large or small the win, I think that we have all won something that we subsequently wanted to sell on or give away. My view is that, whatever I get, I am still better off so I try not to let the hassle of disposing of it mar my excitement at winning.
Keep comping and hopefully you will have that chair in no time....:)Still cracking on....

I may be wrong but please be aware that "Recorded" may not be the best option for valuable items:If you do decide to Ebay it make sure you send it Recorded! If you don't any buyer could claim they never received the item therefore getting back all money they paid.
