It will need a full strip down service with new seals etc.
It may be that some parts are siezed/rusted and not removable due to lack of maintenance.0 -
Ahhh thanks (I think). Any idea what a service will cost me (before parts) in Essex?
Thanks again BristolS0 -
£100ish maybe more for Essex0

Why do you want to do it before the house is sold? The boiler, like the rest of the house, is sold 'as seen'. All that you need to demonstrate is that it's in working order.
If the buyer wishes to have it checked, then they may do so at their expense.
Would you service a car just before selling it?No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
3 years?, an issue?.
My boiler was never serviced in 17 years:eek:, the view of the gas safe guy that replaced it, still working and with no deaths?, "it's probably fine".
Blowing smoke up the jacksie is a phrase that comes to mind. These thing are pretty failsafe today, don't leave them 17 years but don't worry about a year or two.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -

& how do you know that ??I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

I stopped getting my combi serviced many years ago after I got fed up with central heating engineers using the annual service as an opportunity to try to sell new boilers, powerflushes and magnacleans - I decided to invest in a decent carbon monoxide alarm instead.0 -
If its 7 years old and hasn't been touched for 4. Chances are its never been given a 'major' service0

You paid to have a working boiler replaced? Are you sure you're on the right website?0 -

I don't disagree with you however you still can't say it must be stripped if the readings are fine, if you had recommended it was stripped & new seals & electrodes are fitted I'd agree with youI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
