this is the description, car is exactly as described, i have told my daughter to ignore phone calls off him

Good advert. Purely factual, nowt opinionated, other than the 1st car part which won't count against you. That they bartered a price means they were happy with the condition. Absolutely no comeback for the buyer.

marc7 has already been back to this thread and admitted that they made a mistake in the post that you have quoted, so apart from increasing your post count and trying to impress others, what exactly was your point arcon5?

Ye, that's right. And +1 for this one too. *tut*

And you are incorrect in saying that the SOGA isn't applicable,
Parts of it are not applicable, not all of it.

    What parts are applicable?

A lot of it, but the main parts that are important to private sales are S12:
    12
    Implied terms about title.
(1)In a contract of sale, other than one to which
subsection (3) below applies, there is an implied [F7term]
on the part of the seller that in the case of a sale he has a right to sell the goods, and in the case of an agreement to sell he will have such a right at the time when the property is to pass.

    and S13:
    13
    Sale by description
(1)Where there is a contract for the sale of goods
by description, there is an implied [F9term]
that the goods will correspond with the description.
There is no exemption stating that these particular sections apply only to business sellers, unlike S14 which is the section that covers durability and fitness for purpose.
    14
Implied terms about quality or fitness.
(1)Except as provided by this section and section 15
below and subject to any other enactment, there is no implied [F11term] about the quality or fitness for any particular purpose of goods supplied under a contract of sale.
[F12(2)Where the seller sells goods in the course of a business, there is an implied term that the goods supplied under the contract are of satisfactory quality.

Surely the phrase "two lady owners" primes you to expect problems
