Hmm, had a trying day so far. Smaller son (4) is being attacked every day by another boy in his class. He has withstood lots of pushing, tripping over, scratches and so on, but is in tears every morning now because the other boy cut a chunk out of his hair!

The storage heaters were fitted yesterday and look OK but NPower won't put the new meter in until the 12th February....

    And college is finished!

Hope all is well with you.

Quick one because I should be working.

re the little one, if he has seen his gran being pushed around and has been on the receiving end of poor behaviuor by his dad, he will struggle to stand up for himself. I would doubt if the aggressor is restricting his bullying to your son, so you need to ask what the school is doing to deal with him.

It is really important that you insist that his teacher and head tackle this now. Also you and they need to agree how he should respond when it happens. For instance, when I was having trouble, the gym teacher taught me how to grab the foot of the person kicking me lift it and twist. This left the kicker unbalanced, facing the wrong way and totlaly at my mercy. i only had to do it twice.

Re college, hope it went well and keep posting from the library when you can.

Good ideas there and I think I will speak to them again. First time I tried, they said "We haven't had anything reported to us" which threw me a bit because I have told C to tell them EVERY time something happens, and he says that he does.

The following time was just the chat that they "bring out the worst in each other" and that they must not play together or sit together.

C takes a great deal of pleasure in telling me what other boy's punishments are (!) I know he gets his name moved down to orange or red (on the naughtiness chart) and has been sent to the headteachers plenty of times. i was going to say something to C's teacher this morning but she was still out on the playground after the pupils had gone in, telling off the boy in question!

Been talking to rog and when he got his SAR through it included detailed accounts of his conversations with the office. Not actual transcripts but I said "x", Mr Rog said "y", sort of thing.

I am listing a short extract of what you posted below, does your SAR include full details of the conversations or just a short note?

Apparently, on 17th Jan 2005 I phoned them up to leave them a new address (my mother's) and to ask them to issue me a new payment card. This note mentions NOTHING of my circumstances!

I don't think they list all my phone calls to them. Certainly on the 17th they would have been in no doubt where I was. I only went in on the 7th Jan so it is feasible that it took me 10 days to phone them.

10th Feb I wrote and said I had moved back home.

On 26th April, guess what - they called wanting to INCREASE my payments!

29th May 2006 they asked for payments to be increased again. (They phoned)

23rd June 2005 I asked payments to be reduced from £100 to £75.

    Hi, Ras.

The SAR notes were very brief, just the date we spoke and what they told me. e.g Mrs X said she could not meet repayments. I haven't got the info with me (in the library again) but none of the notes was over about 3 lines long.

    Ok

I wish you had a computer at home

Sometime in the next week or so, could you pull out stuff for the months January 2005 to September 2006 where there is any reference to

Them asking you to contact your ex re payments
you having told them that you did not want to contact ex because of the history of aggression?
You asking them to reduce payments and their response.

E-mail me directly if you prefer.

  • ACEY,

Instead of writing my essay (cos tis boring :P) I've just sat and read through a lot of your thread - not all of it because I don't have a clue about a lot of the things that RAS and others have been helping you with! I couldn't leave your thread without just saying that my heart really goes out to you - it sounds like your ex has left you in a total nightmare situation and I can't believe he's STILL hassling you. I'm just gobsmacked at how badly he's behaved towards you! You're dealing incredibly well with it and staying a strong mother to your little ones. You should be proud of how much you've come through.

I really, really hope that in 2008 things get better and better for you and your kids, and I'll be checking out your thread in the future to see how you're doing xxx

    Right... back to the essay...

Bloomin' Ada, library PC's are rubbish! While I was trying to write that, a message flashed up saying there were 10 seconds until reboot..... Its working again now but apparently it is 5.05am and I have only minutes left....

As I was saying, I will bring the folder with me and type out word for word the contact between myself and MCS as they have written it.

Bit peeved re: the storage heaters. NPower can't do the Economy 7 meter until Feb 12th so I asked them not to change the tariff until then. So yesterday I got a letter saying thank you for my custom and they changed the tariff on the 25th Jan!

P.S Re: C and the other child. I phoned his teacher Friday lunchtime and said C was upset about his hair being chopped off. She (teacher) said she had been meaning to talk to me about why C had suddenly started being so upset in the mornings...

She had a word with both my son and other child on Friday and told C he was to tell a teacher every time something happened. I told son I had spoken to his teacher and that she had said to inform staff or dinner ladies.

On Monday, other boy grabbed hold of C's drawing and RAN OUTSIDE WITH IT!! and crumpled it up. So son told the teacher and little cherub was sent to the head. On Tuesday, C was punched in the stomach and the dinner lady saw so that was dealt with swiftly. Yesterday nothing happened....

Check the financial consequences. Is it worse for you to pay the new tariif now?

Glad to learn that the situation with C is a bit better this week. Little horror will do it is he thinks he can get away with it but be less keen if there are adverse consequences.

Also if C knows you and teacher are telling the same story he will be more confident and sure and that makes him less of a target.
