Good morning all,
Welcome to DawnW!
My OS plan for the day:
Cannot have a NSD as need to buy bread, but keep to the budget as per previous post.
Was going to do some foraging which I did not manage at weekend but it is raining so I might just potter around the house, maybe do a bit of paperwork, badly in need of attention.
Might give myself a treat of a free pot of tea and share a cheap bun in the waitrose cafe this afternoon with DH (he works nearby) as a reward for tackling the paperwork mountain, that's an incentive!
Getting up now to prepare DH's packed lunch. My lunch is going to be cheese salad with Ryvita today, dinner probably pepper and courgette ratatouille with verge sausages and quinoa, steamed cabbage. Babysitting in exchange for DH's bootcamp tonight.
Hope you all have a good, cooler and OS day. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Hi Dawn, cut them about 10p coin thickness, so not paper thin but not 1/2" either and you don't have to either peel them or de-seed them, just use as is. It's a nice easy pickle and very useful in the winter when veg is expensive, Lyn xxx.0

How did you make your falafels please Dragon?
This is the recipe that I (kinda!) use. I don't bother grinding coriander and cumin seeds, I use the pre-ground stuff. And I leave out the chilli, as my children refuse to eat anything vaguely spicy. :undecided But apart from that it's identical!:rotfl:

Blegh. I have only just read Mrs. LW's thread. I was given 3 lovely home grown cucumbers yesterday just after I had bought one. I wish I'd thought of pickling them, as it was I gave one to my DS and one to my visitor. They both enjoyed having a freebie.
My OS ways are back with a vengeance as the money is seeming to melt away at the moment what with rewarding the GK's for doing well at school and then giving them holiday money. I give them spending money every week but as they get older and need more money I make them work for any extra and pay them accordingly - all comes out of the same purse.
Only one of my visitors came yesterday and I was expecting two so I have enough left over to make us dinner today. He didn't want any wine so we left the bottle unopened and will use it for next Sunday's visitors. Every little helps.
It would be an NSD today except that I will probably get a call to collect my glasses from the opticians. Now they don't come cheap.

Can I ask a question? What's mousetrap cheese? You've got me scratching my head on that one.
Definately an NSD for me today but not through choice, stuck at hospital in limbo. Not good.
