haven or butlins and entertainment passes

hi didn't know were best to post this so posted it in sun holidays thread and started new thread to sorry if that was wrong thing to do.
i was looking at going either haven primrose valley or butlins Skegness for a week in half term, which park would you recommend.
I was leaning towards butlins as I heard all the fair rides and everything is free were in haven its extra, but do you have to pay for entertainment passes for under 5's with butlins though as we have two kids who are 1 and 4.
I looked on sun holiday brochure with all parks in and with haven its says under 5's free for passes but with butlins it doesn't, so would my tow kids be charge for passes.
was also wondering if we book a week holiday by booking two separate holidays one fri-mon then other mon-fri would we have to pay for two lots of entertainment passes for each holiday or would it be possible to be cheeky and say we didn't need them for the mon-fri and just used are passes that we got for the fri-mon or are the passes dated?
any help be great cheers .

Not everything is free at Butlins, but you can have a great holiday with all the entertainment/rides/waterworld that is free.
Under 3's have free entertainment passes at Butlins.
No idea if the passes are dated at Butlins,I'm at Bognor Butlins for a week starting Monday so could let you know on my return if no-one else can answer.
At all Haven sites I've been to you just flash the cards when entering the entertainment complex, swimming pool, they've never checked the dates.

We've been to Butlins Skegness for the last 3 years and never had any sort of entertainment pass or shown anything to do stuff. Free things are - fair, bobs yard (Kids rides), waterworld, aquapark, playroom in the day nursery (toys like ride ons and play kitchen and sofas - nearly always empty), shows in day and evening. I'm sure there is more but can't remember lol - oh beach!

I haven't done it on a sun holiday but have never had to get entertainment passes.
I don't think they even have them - to get on and off site you show your room key at the gate - if you are onsite you can use the free stuff. They only pass you get is a dining pass if you book food.

It is dishonest and stealing to use the entertainment type facilities if you have not paid for the passes, even though there is no need to actually show any passes.

Would you sneak into the dining room and eat the food if you had not paid for food as part of your deal?

Kids rides are now outside, fine if it's sunny but useless if wet.

Nursery now only opens for scheduled "messy play" events, closed all other times. However, softplay at Skegness is the best I've seen at a camp.

As for beach - well it's fine so long as you only want to go in daytime! I was shocked to find they locked the gate at 5pm.

Can confirm that I've never been asked to show a pass at any Butlins camp, unlike Haven.

no but I wouldn't be sneaking any were if there is no passes to shown. I would just be using a loop hole in the system like many other people. They need to change the system and use passes or make buying entertainment pass compulsory if they want people to buy them. If you found £96 (as that is what it would cost me, wife and kids for passes for a week)in street and there was no one around would you pick it up and put it in your pocket or hand into the police I think we all know you would put it in your pocket and that is still stealing. :-)

Well I think a tip off to Butlins HQ might just be in order regarding the "loophole" being used by Sun holiday peeps ...

Let your conscience be your guide, and I will do the same for mine.

I would hand the money in, and have done so in the past when I found money and any other items that did not belong to me. Likewise a kind lady handed in my mobile when I left it on a train last year.

yes and it sounds like your just the sort of person that would do that. what is your problem with hard working people and before you say anything me and my wife both work trying save a bit off money as we get no help of this government at all whilst it hands out money to people that lay about and don't do any work.it the system that is wrong not the people. there are no passes so why do we need them
