funnily enough - there was someone on breakfast news from the NSPCC this morning I know they were talking about institutional abuse, but I had not realised they investigate abuse per se. I discussed it with friend and she has phoned them. They took details and said they would look into it - but would not be contacting her with any decisions they take (confidentiality issue I would think). Although they may have further questions for her. I think she has done the right thing - these are the child protection professionals and I am sure that if there IS any cause to worry they will act on it.
Thanks everyone for the advice - I think my friend will sleep a little easier tonight.0 -

For me, It would depend on what the conviction was for. If it was a silly thing in his youth, not really a big deal - but if it was something more sinister, I wouldn't hesitate to report it, and immediatelyThe opposite of what you know...is also true0
