Buyers Sols has lost TR1 form

Hi,
This is my first post and I'm fortunate to be in the position that I have sold my house and moved, however a couple of months after moving I've been asked to complete the TR1 form again for the house we sold due to buyers sols losing the form.
Is this an attempt at fraud?
Surely all the forms would have been checked on completion day before keys were handed over?
I'm a little annoyed as the buyers sols dragged their feet for months and were obnoxious and unhelpful every step of the way…
Do I have a duty to help and should I care?
Thanx in advance for any help and advice and good luck to all those that are in the process of moving…

Is it really an issue for you to do another? I assume it's YOUR solicitor asking for this on behalf of the other solicitor?0 -
Can you humour me (and anyone else reading who doesn't know) and tell me what a TR1 form is, please?"If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0

The honest answer is no real trouble in doing another one… However we were put under considerable stress and pressure by the lack of movement by our buyers / buyers sols that we lost our dream house we wanted and ended up having to settle for second best. This was despite them saying that they wanted to move quickly as their house was sold. Within the last weeks of completing they wanted a reduction on the original price agreed for the house we were selling or they were going to pull. Whole process took 23 weeks from agreed sale… hope they are not trying to pull something fishy… would not put it past them going by experience of dealing with them0

If the house is sold (I assume completed) what can they do?0 -

Write back, denying that any sale has taken place.
Then go to an estate agents and place the property on the market again. With luck, since it is still registered in your name, you should be able to net another £256K (or whatever).
