Oh not good news in the Jakesmum house :( My parents came back from an overnight stay away to find their house had been broken into :( The thieves didn't bother with the tv's etc but did take a special item :(

    So upset for them :(

    Afternoon all.

hickles69 - congratulations, you must be very excited.

jakes-mum - sad news, hope the b******s get caught and get what they deserve.

Potted 3 x £1 coins today and managed to get some money bags (only a few, but a start).

PS - is this site running very slow today? Or perhaps my internet?

Sorry to hear about your parents and hope they catch them. I'm sending out bad wishes for the thieves. Reminded me of my parents suffering the same years ago. My poor Mum was devastated and eventually they had to move house. Not nice at all.

No potting today :( as an NSD :)

Hope you all have a terrific Tuesday

Ahh ty ladies, It could have been alot worse in what was stolen, but its still that knowledge that some *rude word* was in my parents house rummaging through all their possessions.

On a happier note, I got my £44 out of the bank today and have ppped it in the pot which means my £2 coin tin is now full! :j :j plus had a further 16p of shrapnel in my purse so thats gone in too, AND having checked the online bank, I see that ive had a £16 quidco payment too so that will be coming out and joining its friends in the pot tomorrow :D

  • Sorry to hear your news jakesmum it's awful to think that people who are not invited into your home are there and then have the cheek to look through your personal things - hope that all is ok with your mum & dad xx

Well potted my daily lunch monies fiver and another 60p then raided the petty cash at work and swapped some £2 coins - well it would be just criminal to let the staff spend them on unimportant things like bus fare and stuff so although it was tough I thought I should do the decent thing and swap them for a note and put them safely in my big fat terramundi so a massive £20 went in plus a few more from my
Purse so lots of potting for me today :j

Also managed to go food shopping with my last mr Lewis voucher so another £20 saved there ooh I do love free money :rotfl: so into another secret from Hubby stash for Xmas hehehe ;)

  • Sorry to hear about your parents' bad news jakes-mum. I know this is a bit different but when I was 18 I bought my first car. It was a right wee banger but I loved it. I worked hard and saved hard for it. I owned it outright. Someone broke into it and stole my jacket (LOVED that jacket, more than the car) and a bag of dirty washing (?? I was going home to my mum's at the time and taking the stuff to be washed). I felt sick that someone had been into my car without my permission and taken my stuff. It was never the same after that. A few months later, someone else stole the car and wrote it off. I was gutted. I don't think about it much anymore but when I do it still makes me rage. I know it doesn't help but big hugs for your parents.

Nothing in the pot today and I don't think I will have anything for it for the rest of the week either :( I might have something for it on Saturday night. It's my sister's hen weekend and I will need to use change for bus fares. If I do have any left it definitely will go in the pot! :D

  • Goodness! There is a lot of really great news and a lot of really terrible news flying around! I think you all deserve a huge hug!!

I have potted £39.72 this month which brings my total to about £470! This means i have about 8 weeks to save about £300 to beat last years total :( i don't think it's going to happen but i will try my best and anything is better than nothing!!

I'm going to set myself a target of £100 by October 31st. I do have a roadkill pot and some notes that aren't added to the total so that should help toward the £300.

So excited for opening day though!
