Transferred £10 into my pot - it's my 9th day without any sweets apart from fruits, I think I deserve it. :)

    £3.50 in the tin today

Bit of a scary day as DH and I went to town and due to deciding to pop into a shop, were running late for picking DD up for a docs appointment. When we got home a friend had put up on FB that a car had crashed into a bus hitting 2 pedestrians as well (killing one :() and it was literally 2 - 3 minutes after we had left the town :( driving right over the spot the accident happened. The local paper had somehow managed to get really close up pictures of the crash (no idea how as they had cordoned off the road at both ends and there was no way to get that angle of the pictures unless you were stood next to the vehicle!) such a very sad thing to happen :(

That's really scary Jakes Mum. You never know what around the corner do you. That's why I live for the day.

    Potted £2.81 today.

Just make the strangest concoction for dinner. Chicken, ham, sausages, boiled eggs, rocket, gherkins, spinach and salad cream.. It's only 3 SW syns for the whole lot. There is enough for tonight's dinner and 2 more boxes for lunch for the next couple of days.

Your right ladies, you really don't, feel so sorry for that ladies family, what a phone call to get :(. It's literally 10 minutes from the town to DDs school and back to the docs, and we had to pull over for a police car and a rapid response on the way back from the school (which we now realise was for the accident) which made us realise how soon after we left that it happened :(

On a nicer note though DH got on the scales tonight and has lost 1 1/2 stone on his diet, took a pic of him by his bike in the same top as the pic I took the day we bought the bike and he looks completely different, his tummy has shrunk considerably and he's standing taller :) so proud of him. We have decided that we are not putting any pics up for his family to see until he's lost another stone at least, then I'm going to put all 3 up together with the date taken :)

, what a sensible lad you are! I've one DGS & one DGD with your sense, but sadly one DGS with no financial thoughts at all. Stay as you are now and you'll get all you need out of life and a lot of what you want too!

Trixxibell you're doing brilliantly, keep at it and you'll be one very happy lady!

Ooooh, I'm so VERY PROUD of you, jakes-mum! :A Well done! See folks, always (well nearly) take note of jakes-mum, she does us proud and READS THE DIRECTIONS ON PAGE 1, 1st POST. I hope your lads are getting better. Very wise Lily's school were with the sun cream!

Flippin eck, jakes-mum, that welcome to NewbieJosh could not have been more thorough if I'd done it myself. A VERY well earned gold star for you and sincere thanks. :staradmin ;)BTW, your last post shows just how easily life can be snatched away, so terribly sad for those concerned, give your DD, DS & Lily a huge hug and thank God you weren't meant to go! :)

You did a great job too, Meowhouse, so a gold star earned for you too, and thanks. :staradmin BTW, an excellent idea with the rocking chair, after all you've been through it's much deserved too. Glad to hear you had such a great time away.

One gold star for you also, Lynsey, with the ithingamy link, must look into that more and decipher good or.....:staradmin
I've toted up my £1 & £2 coins to bank tomorrow as I don't like leaving money in the house, even in a pot and I'm really pleased that I've saved £192 already (think there is about £15 now in the small change pot too). Delighted with that and will keep on potting until official opening day :j

Wonderful saving, Older But Not Wiser!!! :j Can I ask you to now pop the £192 onto your signature please, that way it won't be forgotten...not that you would be likely to!

Very many thanks for the BBQed chicken tips, Ruth, much appreciated and certainly makes far more sense.
Pot actually took a bit of a bashing this weekend as I took £10 out of it so I didn't have to go to the cashpoint.
However I potted £7.30 tonight in tips from work, so that brings it all up to pretty much where it was before. Have gone through my 5p jar as well and added those coins to my signature too so it's all looking fine :)

Oi theatregirl, I thought your pot was SEALED???! :naughty:Shocking Behaviour, but I do understand. Take a look at the 1st post of page 1 about the "Holding Pot" it might help you out. ;)

Ahh, bless your DGS, little_sweetie, sounds as though you got the perfect presents for him, all the best with his Sister, I always find the girls more difficult.

This week my savings are a pretty good £10 in the pot and 1p roadkill!!!! :j

You're ALL saving so well, folks, keep hard at it and remember that even a penny still adds up, so - SAVE IT and be proud!!!

Have a lovely evening, folks, a good day tomorrow too - and KEEP right on saving!!!

    Sue x

Anyone wishing to join, please just ask, you're more than welcome.
