    Hi all,
Managed to do some potting today finally....56p!
Quite good in reality as i've been working nights & not spending anything all week...hurrah!
Today will be spendy however as my brother, sil and new baby nephew are coming to visit me for the first time so i'm off to the shops (once i've finished this coffee & placed match sticks under my eye lids!) to pick up some nice nibbles....the cleaning will then commence!
    Happy Friday

Have had an absolutely amazing bit of luck today!
I currently have a bank account, which I only really use for online purchases and now for wages being paid. However, last month, before started my MSE journey I placed £10 in the account for something small on eBay, however in the end I changed my mind on the item and never got round to taking the money back out.
Today I was just slightly bored and decided to have a look at my bank balance to see if my wages had been paid in, and I saw the £10.00 that I had deposited a couple of weeks earlier.
Now been potted :D really happy with this find!

Been to Morries with my £5 off £10 meat vouchers, the till operator was very amused to have a 13 yr old go through with £10 of meat, then a 6 year old, then me and then DH with all the shopping :rotfl: She said 'oh I know what your doing!' and I replied 'well it does say 1 coupon per customer so I figured we could all be customers today', though it seems I was the first person to come through her till and do that, everyone else just went round the store multiple times

DD hoovered the downstairs for me for a £1 and then said 'if I do the stairs and landing do i get another £1?' and once told yes, got on and did it and hoovered her bedroom as well! she then potted a £1 and has kept a £1 for the icecream man ;)

Have 29p for my pot today :)

Sue - Had to go to my temp job today. Now I am going to have some lovely chocolate cake from M&S.

Oh very well done, Kerry, and I hope you thoroughly enjoyed it!! :D

I hope you're feeling so much better now, 32b3, after a rotten day on Monday or whenever it was.
    Pretty sure its already there.....?

Also, bf gave me another £2 for petrol (bless him) to add to the fiver earlier - so thats been potted as well.

Well, if it wasn't before, Deleted_User, it certainly is now; sorry if I got it wrong - it's not unheard of, though highly unlikely! ;) Excellent saving BTW!!!

I'm pleased you caught up with us, cattysmum, though I always leave a link so folk can find us. I hope you had a lovely time.

Oh strewth, AlwaysHappy, I hope things are easier for you now, though thoughts of blood all over a cream carpet??! I do hope he was ok in the end. It must be difficult for your Mum, bless her. :kisses3:

Don't work too hard, Trixxibell, though you can save as hard as you like! :rotfl:

Flippin eck, mummytummy, how has time REALLY gone THAT quickly?!!

But But But SUE!!! 4 Months is AGESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! I can't be expected to wait that long

Finally got my oven booked in with the technician, so he's coming thursday which means using the non fan assisted oven for 3 days :( after moaning at my mum for about 20 minutes about how it doesn't brown stuff as much as the fan assisted side, she helpfully said maybe I should try turning up the oven as thats the whole point of the fan, to cook at the same speed but at a lower temperature. Well how was I supposed to know  i've only ever used the fan assisted side :o

But, But, But oooooooh yes you can, jakes-mum, so there! :p Tis a darn good job your Mum has more [STRIKE]sense than you[/STRIKE] knowledge of cookers and fans than you! :rotfl: I see there's no flies on you re the vouchers [STRIKE]though you can see where they've been[/STRIKE] - brilliant news!!! :j

Not to worry, atolaas, carry on budgeting and saving hard, you'll get a new surprise in November. :D

Congratulations on the job, NewbieJosh! :T You're doing marvellously, so stay focused. Great to hear that you even have a nice boss, a job worth looking after - your Bro too if he gives £4 for shopping!! Just seen your latest post - GREAT news on the £10er!!! :j

Potted £1.10 today. Really excited for November :)

It's great to hear, EMMAP, keep saving hard and you'll be well chuffed on opening day!

I reckon you spoke to soon, Lynsey, it's [STRIKE]piddling[/STRIKE] pouring down here - and I go on holiday for a week on Monday! We'll be in our touring caravan though and will make the very best of it come rain or shine. :D

    Excellent saving, siju!!

    Hiya Lost..and brilliant saving!!
    Hi fellow potters.

I havent been around much and not potted much either. I have been too busy spending money I don't have instead of saving it. "slaps wrist"

I have now come to realise that I have dug myself a hole and that it will quickly spiral into a massive debt hole if I don't take control now so back on the MS way of life and will be back in here too saving every penny I can.

Come on, shiningfaery, time to pull your finger out and save, save, save if you want to go to the sales like last year. Now stop spending d'you hear?!!

I'm saying nowt, lucyhope, though I bet the family said plenty! ;) Too much thinking going on, I hope all's relatively well for you and DD1. :)

Hi everyone, I've decided that I am going to wait until November to count my pot all in one go. Have been putting in odd change all week but didn't count it as I'm going. I like surprises! Need something to look forward to!

Have already decided that I will start anew from day 1 next year.
Taking tips all along the way from all you experienced savers, thank you.

    Ima

It's great to hear you'll be having a surprise in November, ima, starting up with the rest of us on the day after we declare our cash too. You've been bitten by the savings bug!! :j

Have a lovely time with the family, Merrylegs.

£20 in the pot after shopping!

Have a really LOVELY weekend, potters! I may be on before, but I'm going on holiday on Monday til the following one with DH, DD & her family, so be good - yep, you too, jakes-mum!! :naughty: Keep safe and healthy all of you and see you soon. Til then - SAVE WELL!!!
I hope your evening's a good'n, all SPCers, save VERY hard now! ;)

We got back today so have a few pages to catch up on. Had a lovely time way out in the country, so peaceful and hardly any spending. Will count up what's in my purse and pot it later.

Hope your holiday will be as enjoyable as ours was Sue.

    Hugs to all.

Made myself a pot from an empty protein shake powder container, cut a hole in the lid ( without injuring myself :) ) and stuck it down with loads of tape, it looks about 4 to 5 litres so should hold a fair bit of coins. I am not adding up what goes in, I want a surprise in November.

I chucked in what I had in my purse today.

Evening all - well, today I can "hardly" tell there was a massacre on the carpets, though its still like a mental war zone here.
Anyway, on a more positive note - used the morries meat voucher so potted the £5 and a spare 10p so feeling virtuous. Thanks Lynsey for the heads up on that one, me and my pot are grateful - and I have another voucher to use up tomorrow.
    I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!

    .......ssh........trying to tiptoe in!!!!!!!

Hello! Forgive me Sue for I have sinned!!!!!!! I have neglected this thread, can you ever forgive me????? LOL

Wow, So much has changed in the last 6 months. DH was made redundant and knackered his knee. For a while we did not think that he was going to be able to apply for jobs as the diagnosis on the knee was not so good.
I had to increase my hours at work from a lovely 19 hours upto full time. DH became the househusband but could not really clean, tidy etc due to knee. I have barely seen my kids since early May due to day/evening shifts.

DS1 has finally been diagnosed with ADHD after us having to fight for the last 5 years due to the incompetence of his primary school. Luckily, we finally have found an angel in his wonderful specialist and are trying some medication.
I was very worried about medicating him as didn't want him to be a zombie........things are looking promising and he seems to be fine...........and much calmer.......and he has actually sat and read a book :j:j:j He is so much calmer!!!!

Husband started his new job 3 weeks ago and his knee seems to be holding up ok. Fingers crossed!!
Due to all the ups and downs, I have been lucky enough to be accepted for a 6 month career break at work and am looking forward to spending some quality time with my family:)

Sorry for such a long post........hope you are all well and Sue, I have updated my siggy as I have still managed to keep potting:T:T

    Love to you all

Hiya everyone :hello: and a warm welcome to all the new peoples and returners.

Sorry not been about much but been a merry-go-round here for the last few weeks.

Lots of problems with car, having to run around various places to get fixed, borrow and return courtesy car, get MOT'd twice and then a huge bill - full amount still to be confirmed

DH's company taken on new contract and they keep shifting his hours/days and times - early or late days, sometimes nights. It's been a 'mare to organise even meals !!

My work keeps varying and had quite a few 'emergency' asks for mystery shopping as they have been let down. Don't like to refuse as need the money after DH's lay-off and then the car :(

So - all in all - not had much time for myself. The spare time we had organised was last weekend for a quick trip to Blackpool for DH's birthday but it had been organised and paid for ages ago when things were calmer :rotfl:

Things seem to be a bit more settled atm so able to get a bit more organised thank goodness. DH working tonight, but should be home by 3.00 which means after a kip we should have the rest of the day to ourselves :j

I don't like having much money in the house so decided to count my pot today and add to that already in bank. So another £110 to add to total and still a few odd pounds left in pot which I didn't count (I will add it to my total in a mo) :T

Hope you all have a super Saturday and those going on hols have a fantastic time
