I use firefox and downloaded the add on when this topic first came up last year. Ive had more wins than the previous year but more has come from Twitter, blogs and mag dailies rather than what I like to call Main board entries. So.. Im not really convinced its made much difference. I just think it's getting harder to win anything.

Hmm.. thinking about it though I started doing the mag dailies after christmas 2014 (so about 18 months). I never had a win on them until July which was about the same time I started to become MSE hidden.since then an average of 1 a month. Could there be something in that ? Possibly, but Im not convinced its anything other than luck and Im sure theres plenty winning on them without the referrer control add on

I only started trying to block referals yesterday and most of my wins are from mag dailies and c2w's, so I am confident they don't care where the links come from. I have to say that I have recently been wondering why I have had so few "main board" wins, so I'm hoping that this referer control thingy that I have installed will help.

Which is the setting to make it so that the site thinks you came from their URL.

Is it target host? (google chrome)

Same question re firefox.

Also, for firefox there is "RefControl" and "Referrer Control". Is there one which I should be using or should I have both running and what settings please.

Currently I have - "Default for sites not listed" as <Block> in RefControl
And "Traget domain" checked in Referrer control

I use RefControl for Firefox. I have the settings for "default for sites not listed" as <Forge (3rdparty)> so that it thinks I've come from the parent url.
