Interesting the things you find that you thought had been lost years ago. Three more Portemeirion items (fleabay here they come), a letter and a card that I'd hoped I'd kept but thought I'd got rid of in another clear out and, best of all, Auntie M's tea service. I've been grieving about losing that for over a decade! I've also found the academic essay I wrote on something connected with the Iraq War that I've long regretted chucking because it is probably the best bit of writing I've ever done - I didn't!
More college paperwork thrown. I'd no idea how much I'd got up there. Big box of paperwork that I actually went up there to find is near the hatch but hasn't made it down yet because it's huge.Better is good enough.0 -
Honeybear I'm glad you have found some lovely things you had missed
Few bits of ironing I had to do done.
Harested some runner beans, wine berries and gosgogs.
Had my dinner, doing DS3's next, he had a big snack when he came home. Then some more statements to check and filing to do.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Thanks Dusty. It made the whole day worthwhile - and I ditched mountains of stuff!
OH was out when I started and I've just found him prodding through the recycling bag, taking things out. 'No, we do not need that DVD of Metropolis. Nor those nine ramekins. ... No. ... Really! ... NO! ... PUT THAT BACK!'
We are no longer on speakers.Better is good enough.0 -

Sentimental rambling alert, feel free to look away if you are of a squeamish nature;
There are a fair few poorly people, some going through the mill, others with hectic lives at the moment or giant frogs to battle and I've been reading and following along but haven't felt up to commenting much.
I went to the funeral of a 47 year old friend today (a mum of DS2s friend since playgroup and in his class at school, DS2 is 9 but the little boy is still only 8), his Dad left them this week last year and now his Mum has died very suddenly from cancer.
Our cases are all packed and the car is loaded for our summer holiday and although I've been at my most ill for this last 2/3 months, I'm going away with my family and I'm going to cherish them and make the most of what I have.
I won't be around next week but I would like you all to know that I appreciate you and that I'm rooting for you in your struggles and everyday flying. Have a hug, even if you don't do them (neither do I usually) but it's virtual and I know you'll excuse me.
Congratulations to Bossy's DS on his report, best of luck for christening, Pigpen, hoping for a swift recovery for Kaz, Mrs M-Ps mil and Mr LW, great job on the loft clearing Honeybear (hope that sound is restored soon) and hang in there all you teachers (esp Valli), nearly there. You are ALL (that's every flylady) in my thoughts and prayers.Proud to have dealt with our debt. DFW Nerd 1474

Thank you Lemanie. OH has just chilled and opened a bottle of champagne for us to celebrate, so yes, sound is well and truly restored. Thank you for your kind thoughts and I imagine I am not alone in recognising the clarity of thought you've expressed after losing someone. It knocks everything back into perspective. Thank you for reminding me.Better is good enough.0
