Do Halfords fit car bulbs ?
I was stopped by the police today for a faulty brake light.
No doubt it is pretty easy to replace a bulb (Corsa) if you are technically minded, or at least good at DIY
I'm neither, although I suppose if i really had to do it, I could.
Was wondering though, do Halfords fit bulbs, of course if I buy it there.
I know in the past, I had a car remote battery replaced by halfords, as there was some kind of time limit to do the replacement. If it was done too slowly, there would be a lot of faff getting new locks etc. I think though Halfords stopped that now.

On Halfords' home page at https://www.halfords.com there's a link that says We Fit - click it and it does indeed confirm they fit bulbs.
Didn't you check their website first?0 -
Yes - it was six pounds something per bulb, on top of the costs of the bulbs themselves when I had to use them (pre surgery), so it could easily be around eight now.0

Have a look on youtube to see how the bulb is changed, Halfords is good for convenience, but you pay a premium for that convenience, years back I bought a pair of H7 bulbs were £16 for the pair, at Asda a set of bulbs including a H7 was £5.
I don't know about the Corsa but the later >2005 Astras the whole cluster had to be removed to change the bulb, sounds drastic but it wasn't really, but then if you are not handy with DIY, perhaps you may know somebody that will change it for you, only takes a few minutes.0 -
As above, try you tube or your owners handbook to see how easy or difficult it is.0

Halfrauds do this for about a tenner.
Have a look in your handbook as this will tell you how to do it.
what car is it?
Buy the bulbs from a motor factors place, not a place full of spotty teenagers0 -
They fitted mine for £7 and as the bulbs were a 2 pack I have the spare. Great service. They had a "we fit" space in front of the store, I just drove in and it was done in 5 mins. Watched it all so now I know for next time. All my tools are in storage so this was a great option very convenient0

Or....
If you have AA or RAC membership....
get them to replace it, the AA only charge for headlight bulbs and RAC charge for all bulbs but do not charge for fitting them.
The AA replaced my Headlight bulb and my fog light bulb last time. the headlight bulb blew while I was driving got to work and got it sorted while at work. It is illegal to drive with defective headlights and it is part of their agreed service.I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.0 -
wear rubber gloves when fitting them - if you hold the bulbs by hand you will leave grease on them which burns hotter and can pop the bulbs.0
