It's a residential street, not meant for haulage companies to park their fleet on.

Its a public highway. Any vehicle can park on it as long as it is parked legally.

There's a vehicle removals lorry that is always parked near a junction in the mornings (single yellow). It parks there on the evening and removes it early morning. Absolutely annoying when I'm trying to drive in and it's blocking my path.

If its causing an obstruction/danger then report it. If not, what's the problem?

That's the whole point - an LGV cannot be parked legally if it is regularly overnight where the OP says it is - it needs an operating base.

There are rules governing vehicles that obviously are on long journeys, where returning everynight would be a nonsense suggestion, but skip lorries do not normally run long-distance.

Check your local Council website. Mine says :-
    "
HGV Lorries with a maximum gross weight of 5 Tonnes or more are not allowed to park in residential areas overnight between 8pm and 7am Monday to Friday or at any time on Saturdays or Sundays.
Any complaints about overnight or weekend lorry parking in the town should be reported to the Parking Office on ............... We carry out early morning enforcement once a week to deal with these vehicles and we will investigate any complaints notified.
This parking ban does not apply to commercial vehicles such as large vans because they are below the 5 tonne weight limit threshold."
