You haven't picked up on any my points.
LeeUK is right - a truck operator needs a base to operate from and keep the vehicles overnight.
But is the truck really there 'overnight' - it might just be for a couple of hours and co-incidentally with the time you set off for work.
Is it there at mid-night for example?
yes ..it is parked up if I go out in the evening and I head for work at 7:40 a.m.
I guess the waste site does day hours ..8:00 or 9:00 open ?
edit
It is not parked over weekends0 -
OK then - that is breaking the terms of the Operators Licence.
You would be perfectly correct in notifying this to your local DVSA office.
The operator will get a ticking off - nothing more - and the vehicle will not be left there overnight again.
Good luck.0 -

.
Not all trunks can return to the depot every night, thousands don't, even skip wagons. Recycling requires particular waste to be delivered to waste sites that can handle/ process it, a lot of it gets shifted around.
Obviously we don't know , perhaps the op should put some effort in and find out, if it bothers them so much.0 -

I agree - not returning to the home base every night is fine - but parking in the same spot for a few nights every week might not be fine if it bothers local residents.0 -
complaining the the council will be the first port of call. Permits and licenses are money spinners for the council and if a truck fleet is using public roads to park [read: without paying taxes/duties/permits] then the council is going to come down on them.
There was a scrapper down my road who was leaving junk on his flatbed for days on end. The council then splash a DESIST, COUNCIL AWARE stick all across the drivers door. Then I never saw the flatbed ever again.0 -
Is it "across from you", I thought it was at the end of the road?
At the end of the day if it's not causing an obstruction or even causing a nuisance what's the big problem.
...when it happens across from you ..take the high road and leave it ..;)
sheesh ...some of you people are hard work ...I have my answer ..thanks everyone for the useful replies ..Next time I want to discuss ethics and morality I will post up that I am having some kind of soul searching episode...:rotfl:0 -
If you get no joy with your council then you can try your Traffic Commissioner, this is the department that run's the O licence system and believe me they wield real power in the LGV world.
