Greasy hair straight after washing!

  • Leave deep cleansing shampoo (eg the Tresemme clarifying shampoo) on DRY hair for 10 minutes and then rinse. In addition, wash hair normally about the 3rd and 6th day with the deep cleansing shampoo.

Some of the main companies, Clairol, Granier etc., have helplines. I wanted to remove old colour from my hair before trying new hair colour and this was their suggestion.

I've had this problem (greasiness at the crown), and used the Boots Clarifying shampoo just before I re-colour my hair.

If the Tresemme clarifying shampoo is being used to get rid of old colour, then I don't think I want to use it except just before I re-colour, though.

What I've been using recently (and I've spent a fortune trying out shampoos - it's a new problem and I'm 67, I've been washing my hair for many decades!) is the Italian Argan Oil shampoo, which someone suggested despite being an oil shampoo works well (and no Sodium Lauryl Sulphate as far as I can see).

PS - I was told that Vosene would remove colour too.

I know this will sound idioticm but hair can get really greasy because you are stripping out the natural oils every day and it's desperately tying to rebalance. Also if you have really fine hair, conditioner can make it feel really lank and oily too.

I wash my hair twice or three times a week with baby shampoo, and use organic Extra Virgin olive oil once a week to put oil back in. Have this great stuff from Phyto7 in a tube which puts moisture in dailly without making it lank. If I have any leftover I use coconut water as a penultimate rinse,I don't rinse with really hot water and use one of those Teazer brushes to give myself 100 brushes morning and evening to stimulate scalp.
