We don't know what the OP's business is, but it's perfectly possible to run a small business from home without having ANY liability to business rates AT ALL. And being liable to pay full biz rates on ALL areas of the house would mean that it was no longer regarded as a residential property, which is a whole new can of worms (planning permission for change of use, anyone?)QuackQuackOops wrote: »Make sure you are paying full business rates on all areas of your house and they won't be able to complain to anyone.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Phone the Council and ask them.
Then you will KNOW that even if someone phoned they could not cause you a problem.
Check with your home insurance and your landlord or mortgage company, and you are in the clear.0
