Austerity may well remain for the foreseeable future....however, that doesn't give any government to right to use austerity as an excuse for severely depressing ordinary public service workers' incomes.

For, with suppressed incomes, comes a severe reduction in buying power.

Given the sheer numbers of workers in the public sector, that results in a knock-on effect on the economy, In other words, if we no longer buy, then what happens to the private sector?

[Perhaps one or two fewer aircraft carriers...or the costly mistakes that accompany them, might go a long way to easing the economic plight? ]

Currently we have a two-tier society..the 'haves', & the 'have-nots'....As has been so eloquently pointed out recently...ignore the 'have-nots' at one's peril.
No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......

  • Why not just notify the OR that your income changes for one month and you won't be able to afford your IPA(greement)?
