It's not that simple, my OH has had numerous court orders for contact but his ex still allows and stops contact as she pleases. It has cost us £15,000 over the last five years repeatedly taking her to court. It has got to the stage that even if she stops all contact again we cannot afford to do it again, which makes him look bad but it has crippled us financially with still no good outcome.
She still gets away with flouting every order thrown at her, they were supposed to be bringing in some form of punishment to stop it happening but I'm yet to see it happen. If my OH got the chance to see his kids again regularly he would jump through whatever hoops she wants
The same happened to my DH, he paid thousands of pounds, and still could not get anywhere, he hasn't seen his children since 2005, pays maintenance but has no contact due to his ex flouting every rule and making it too difficult to establish contact, some PEC can be really evil and manipulative!0 -

And the law is an !!! for allowing this to happen. Letting parents get away with this makes a mockery of the whole legal process.0 -

I agree, she managed to get legal aid, so dragged out the process, letter after letter cost DH £200 a time to reply! When she had put up one obstacle that we spent money sorting she would start another issue. It got to the point that the children were deeply unhappy, and she was telling them they had been replaced and that DH didn't want them as he had new children!!
she was a special breed of evil, and thankfully now DHs children are older they are starting to make the initial moves to re establishing contact, but 10 years have been lost, and it's unforgivable how one sided the law can be! 0
