This isn't specifically about Just-Eat, but it is about a significant number of takeaways who sell through them.

In February Coca-Cola stopped producing 2litre bottles of Coca-Cola in any variety, but takeaways on Just-Eat are continuing to advertise the 2l bottles at full price but they are passing off the new 1.75l bottles as 2l, I have been caught out a few times on this and now have challenged a few who made it clear in their opinion it isn't a big deal, but were unwilling to refund the difference, and some who laid the blame at the door of Just-Eat who haven't updated it on their menus, I pointed out that if I short changed them they wouldn't be happy.

What irks me is that they do nothing to alert anyone to this, they don't for example offer a can to make up the difference and so far only after I left a note on the order did one give me a refund at the door for the difference, so beware when ordering.

I will be passing this on to trading standards, given how prevalent it is in my local area I can reasonably presume that many takeaways up and down the country are benefitting from the change in size at the customers expense.

What difference? From what I have seen they have reduced the size of the bottle and kept the price the same. On what basis are you declaring the 'difference' amount?

It's not just takeaways, have you not noticed that supermarkets have done exactly the same (presumably with the connivance of Coca-Cola)?

I can see the OP's point, if they pay £x for 2l they expect to get 2l. However the rip off here is the amount charged for Coca Cola in the first place. Aldi, Tesco etc all do equivalent products for a quarter of the price.

Edit: make that a fifth of the price!

No, they don't, cheap cola is not and never will be coca cola.

The issue is the price of a 2l bottle of Coca Cola was £2.80 in my area 6 months ago, the bottle size is smaller, and still being declared as larger and the price is the same.

That makes no sense. You asked for a refund, but then in the above post you say that its the same price, but smaller?

In your OP you say they stopped making them in February, so they can't sell you something they don't have. Okay its a slight annoyance, but I am not convinced the takeaways are to blame, it is Coca Cola...

    In any case...I'm confused...

Next thing you know, they'll make curly-wurlys smaller or reduce the number of cigarettes in a pack to 19 whilst keeping the price the same.
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

If I'm understanding the OP, its nothing whatsoever to do with Coca Cola reducing the bottle size but keeping the price the same. That has happened with most of the food I buy over the last few years.

The problem is that the takeaways were contracted to supply 2 litres of cola but only supplied 1.75 litres. They owe OP 250ml, or 1/8 of the cost back.

    It's quite simple

Just eat advertise 2litres of coke for x £

    They supply 1.5 litres instead

Contact trading standards ? (Do they still exist ?)

You all might be a bit healthier if you just stopped buying junk food with coke on such a regular basis that it has become an issue worth highlighting on here!

Either choose another drink or buy your coke elsewhere.

If it annoyed me as much as it annoys you I have the simplest solution............don't use the company!
