I love my Xperia Z1 on Virgin Mobile, but I'd be even more happier when they decide to offer 4G to their pay monthly customers!, any one know if there's been any news on this? :(

Sods law they'll begin to offer it when my contract comes to an end next year :rotfl:

Unfortunately a "piece of string" question, it would only be known at an extremely high level in EE and Virgin until it actually happens.

    It's rumoured for Q4 2014 or Q1 2015.

While it is entirely possible (and long overdue) that Virgin a Mobile consumer customers will get 4G soon I wouldn't use an anonymous comment under an oldish story to be confirmation of anything.

Anyone could call themselves "virgin mobile uk" and make a comment (it's not actually part of the story). I would expect a genuine Virgin account to be verified and at least use capitals for their title.

Sent them a Tweet, as expected; their response was:

    Bummer :(

From conversations I've had its still without a date as data costs are in negotiation between EE and Virgin (I presume there is a 4G premium being demanded by EE).

Why do you think Virgin have increased prices recently. Wholesale prices have been increased by EE recently.

Yes, though it seems 4G is being negotiated separately.

Well my contract minimum term comes end of the year in December, if there is no 4G by then I'll move to a different network like Tesco or EE.

I would have honestly thought Virgin would have had 4G by now, what good is a 4G phone without 4G?.

Doesn't EE 3G support Dual Cell HSDPA?

    4G is a nice to have but I haven't noticed a massive difference between 4G and 3G DC-HSDPA on 3 TBH.

I'm currently using Vodafone with my phone is displaying only G, E and 3G
