I also call BS.
No-one says "its not going to be £45 is it?", People always round up or down to the nearest £10 as thats logically simpler for the brain to process a meaningless non fixed amount.. It would be far more natural/normal to say "It's not going to be 50 quid is it?"
Anyway he was correct, you asked (apparently), its not going to be £45 is it? And he said no, he was correct.
Not quite sure why you are adding anything extra, it doesn't give you any extra rights.
I may have said £40, £45, or £50. Call BS all you like, I've stated the facts. Once again, an MSE member contributing almost nothing to the post. Your post count number can't be cashed in for prizes.0 -

Nor can your lack of manners, which is just as well.
You have your answer as to where you stand legally, not quite sure why you keep trying to pursue the issue?
Or do you want

What are my rights in this case?
Of course you do not have to pay it. You were supplied a product by an authorised representative of the 'retailer' who informed you of a price.
They cannot subsequently increase the price beyond that which was originally agreed. To do so would be an offence under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations.
Bizarre that so many people who post on here have absolutely no grasp of the law.0 -
The OP was informed of a verbal estimate of the price.0
