Most likely. Certainly the date of manufacture will be easily determined.
Yeah but date of manufacture doesn't mean date of when its sold. It could be sold 3-4 months after date of manufactured sitting on the store shelf gathering dust.
How do I tell what date my PS4 was manufactured without turning it on?0 -

I bought a refurbished PS4 from argos clearance bargains from Walsall on sunday and the problem is that the PS4 turns itself off straight away after starting.
What is their website address as I cant seem to find and read their return policy?
Or can I contact sony to get it sorted as I have proof of purchase?
I prefer to contact sony as I don't want to drive on a long motorway journey back to Walsall to return it.
Are sony obliged to fix/replace the console? If sony says send it back to argos then what shall I do if argos don't have any in stock as I really want a working PS4 instead of a refund.
Please advise.
You can go to Sony if the PS4 is in warranty, but the warranty might have been violated if it wasn't refurbished by Sony itself. Moreover, the first point of call should be the retailer where you bought the PS4 from, you usually get a faster turn around time, though from experience Sony are fantastic, they bring a PS4 for you when they collect the faulty one while the faulty one is being fixed.0 -

You mean like a courtesy PS4?0 -
Perhaps. Or maybe you just keep the one they bring and yours gets refurbished and issued to the next person needing a repair?
(I have never owned a PS4, nor a PS3, so I am merely speculating).0 -
I'm not sure about the PS4/Sony thing, but I had a Vax from Walsall Clearance Bargains. Worked fine for 3 uses, 4th use, 5 months after buying it, it spewed the dirty water back out everywhere. Took it back with receipt, was offered an exchange as they had the same model in stock so I just swapped like for like. I asked what they would do if the same problem happened again, and they said as the receipt now shows an exchange due to a fault, if I have to take it back within 12 months, I can choose an exchange or a refund.0
