The house you'd really like

Does anybody else find themselves browsing through rightmove looking for houses in your area, just to see what you like the look of and maybe to dream a little? I've found myself doing this and I keep going back to this house, which has been on and off the market in the last few months:
http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-30705711.html
It's at the sort of price range that is realistically out of reach for me, but is close enough to make me dream about what it would like to live there. It went under offer a while back and I found that I was genuinely disappointed, even though I'd have to sell my kidneys and first born child to be able to buy it myself. Now it's back on the market and I still find myself drawn to the advert.
So what houses do you cyber-stalk? And what exactly would you have to sell to be able to afford it for yourself?

That is a lovely house. I don't know the area, but I really like the layout of that house- a nice practical amount of space.
And yes I often 'window shop' houses. We considered moving area about 6 months ago, but have now decided to stay in our current house for another couple of years to pay off the mortgage. And by fluke I have just been offered my perfect job nearby (and it wouldn't be easily commutable from the other area) so we really aren't in a position to be looking at houses at the moment. But I am still looking at houses in the other area as it's where I want us to be longer term...0 -
I have just bought my dream house and I still can't help looking even tho I am 100% sure this is the house for me.0

I do this too. The houses I look at are the type of house we would buy after this one but we won't be in a position to do that for at least ten years. There's no way I could afford any of them now but I fantasise about payrises and paying off our mortgage.
There are also a couple of houses I've 'saved' on Rightmove that I will never in a million years be able to afford! Those are the real dream houses!0 -
Yup!! I have saved searches on rightmove just to indulge my fantasy, what a nerd.
My fave is to search for £500k ish+ just to see what they're like. I called it my 'winning the Euromillions' search. Even with selling myself and all my wordly possessions they'll always be out of my price range!!0 -
We are hoping to exchange today and I'm still keeping an eye where we are moving from and where we are moving to. On Friday a house came on Rightmove on a road we love and three doors down from a house that went under offer whilst we were waiting to put ours on the market. I thought it might have put the cat amongst the pigeons as it's a road my wife was really keen on moving to but it came on at a price we couldn't afford and so we are happy we didn't wait for something to come on there.0

I often look at houses though would only move again if won the lottery, then would get someone to move it all for me.
Love the house i live in now though .Just want this house to look like we want it to.New bathroom and cloakroom next on list!0 -

Two houses I'm dreaming about, both back in my home area ('nuff said = I cant afford even ordinary houses there, other than the "starter" I had).
One is out of my reach regardless, at not far short of £700,000, but I dream about the land attached to it and the setting its in is both very nice and still manages to be pretty convenient.
The other one I try not to think about too much. Its in a road I have had my eye on for a while and its affordable if I go back in a time machine and get married back in my 20s and then stay married, whilst "climbing the ladder". That is, the price is nearly £half million. As someone who stayed single and then had some "stuff gone wrong", that one is also way out of my reach and that's the one that I find frustrating to look at. I know 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms is more than I really need, but its the road its in I want (attractive, decent, convenient) and got a garden as per the size/etc I want. So No. 1 is "Dream on" and No. 2 is "I thought I woulda".
Oh well....better go off and read the national news again and remind myself of some of the "positive" reasons why I moved and am starting to tell myself "I think I made the right call..".0 -
this is what just over £500,000 buys you whwer I live and I don't like it , would need to up the budget lol http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-43788949.html?premiumA=trueIf i knew the answers to all the questions i wouldn't be on here
