So, my current major goals.
Income.
I'm currently self employed, which I love so much. Not being answerable to anyone else is absolute bliss but the problem is that I'm not very good at making sure that I answer to myself! My major goal business wise is to take home £2000 a month after tax, NI and student loan repayments, which would mean earning approx £2800 a month before these things. A very, very ambitious goal, hence it needing breaking down further.
Debt/Savings
Nice and simple here (by which I mean that it wouldn't take a lot of writing although it will take a hell of a lot of doing), be debt free and have saved up the £18,000 it would require to go back to university for the final two years. Although I intend to do it as a part time course so it would take roughly 4 years to complete. I'm not sure if it would be any cheaper though.
Weight/fitness.
To weigh roughly 9 stone and to be able to jog 5k.
Motivation/mental well-being.
The biggie, mainly as it's the one goal I have that I'm unsure how exactly to achieve it. The goal itself is to have suitable motivation and mental health that I can treat my to-do list as a full time job. I want to be able to start my list in the morning, keep going until I break from lunch and then keep doing it until the late afternoon then relax after dinner. As to how to get there, I'm a big believer in hypnosis, as you might have noticed. I know that I'm one of the people that it works for, the problem is cost. The mp3s that you can get online for roughly £10 each, I usually have to listen to every day to get them to work. The none motivational ones that I use work for a few days but lack of motivation is so ingrained in me that the one to make me more motivated works amazingly for the first few hours, then starts to wear off and by the next day, I'm still noticing a little bit of effect but not enough to get me through a full day without listening to it again.
So, the solution. The lady who runs the business that my self-employment is affiliated with (long story) does hypnosis at her home in Norfolk. It's quite a way from Bath so I'd want to make a trip of it and stay in a Travelodge/very cheap B & B for a few nights. £400 could get me there and back by car, buy me 2 nights food and lodgings and get me the treatment. I plan to start saving for this as soon as I've paid off my interest accruing/pain in the a**e debts. So basically, my credit cards and my gas and electric company. I'm fairly confident that a more tailored treatment such as that would work but if it doesn't, I'll have a re-think of what to do next.0 -
So, my mini goals, based on the same categories. This is what I want to achieve in a month. As it's nearly the end of Sept now, I want to have achieved each of these goals by the 31st Oct.
Income.
I will have recruited one cleaner to my business.
Debt/Savings.
I will have paid off the arrears on my gas/electric bill.
Weight/fitness.
I will have achieved my half a stone award at Slimming World.
Motivation/mental wellbeing.
I will have listened to my motivational hypnosis mp3 every day, except for pre-selected days off which I will type up on this thread ahead of time.0 -

To cross things out, you click Edit, then Go Advanced and finally, highlight the bit you want to cross out and click the S with a line through it on the left hand side of the list of icons. Hope that helps.

I ended up sleeping in very late today as I couldn't drop off until well into the early hours. So I haven't ticked off many things today. And tonight's not looking great on the sleep front so far either, my downstairs neighbours are having a lovely time talking and laughing in their kitchen just below my room. Usually, they're really quiet and in bed by 10 but not tonight.
It's times like this that I really wish that I didn't live in a shared house, being reliant on having nice neighbours really sucks. Oh well, I'll get out of here one day.
It's great to see so many people on this thread all of a sudden, the more the merrier. Oddly enough, judi24, I was just lurking on your thread earlier today. I can't believe that you manage a full time job and three kids still at home. That's amazing! :T
The breakfast for the OH went well, even though it was more of a dinner by the time it was done! I might well end up having it myself tomorrow, bacon and all. I don't eat meat very often but I do have it now and then and it did smell amazing. The OH suggested adding baked beans as it was a bit dry so I'll try that as well. Other than that, it's been a pretty quiet day.

PS They've finally gone to bed! :j0 -
